As A Lifelong Taylor Swift Fan, This Is The Only Album Ranking You’ll Ever Need
10. Taylor Swift AKA Debut
Big Machine Records1989 is a good album — there is no doubt about it. It was Taylor’s first full pop album, winning her the second Grammy of her career. And while I do love it, sometimes I find myself forgetting how many bops are on this album, which is why it is number seven. It does get bonus points for having two songs rerecorded, though (“Wildest Dreams” and “This Love”).
6. Reputation
Big Machine Records1,2,3 LET’S GO BITCH! Reputation was the shift in eras I didn’t know I needed. I play this album when I need to feel like an unapologetic bad bitch, and who doesn’t needs that in their lives? The only reason this album isn’t higher is that I have a fear of snakes, so that part scared me a little bit.
5. Speak Now
Big Machine RecordsSpeak Now is the one album Taylor has written all by herself, and I fully respect her for that. It shows the listeners how much fun falling in love can be and how sad it can be when it ends. I fully believe this is the next rerecording, which is an added bonus. Also, John Mayer sucks. Come on, man, she was only 19!
4. Red (Taylor’s Version)
Republic RecordsFirst, if you ARE NOT listening to Taylor’s Version then what the hell is wrong with you? Second, I am going to be honest — before she rereleased Red, it was lower on my list. There was nothing special about it except “All Too Well” and getting to enter your Taylor Swift year (22 years old). But once she rereleased it, my opinion changed. This album has songs to dance at a club to and songs to cry to, plus it has the 10-minute “All Too Well.” And that song is like angels singing in your ear. GIVE HER BACK THE SCARF, JAKE!!
3. Evermore
Republic RecordsAfter Folklore, I was not expecting her to release something so soon, but when she did, I SCREAMED. Evermore is the more upbeat version of Folklore and I love it for that reason. Plus, I am waiting for the day I can scream “What a shame she’s f*cked in the head” during her tour.
2. Midnights
Republic RecordsI was really shocked by how much I love Midnights. Taylor has been maturing, both emotionally and vocally, and this album is proof of it. It’s almost like it’s an album of who she was, who she is, and who she wants to be. The album is a personal one, but it’s still so relatable.
1. Folklore
Republic RecordsI was shocked when she announced this album in the middle of 2020. It has everything you could ever want: love, tears, and Taylor’s iconic bridges. From the very first listen, it became my favorite album of hers and has stayed there ever since (I’m even listing to it as I’m writing this). Plus, “August” is a bop and a half.
