British Gas, Octopus Energy & E.On to give Brits £100 to reduce electricity use
Octopus Energy, OVO Energy, British Gas and E.On are set to pay customers up to £100 to not use electricity.
The scheme is designed to encourage people to switch their electricity which aims to avoid blackouts this winter.
Most use electricity at similar times with a spike in the evening when people get back from work and start cooking.

Now several firms have either signed up to the National Grid's scheme or created their own, reports LiverpoolEcho.
A number of the biggest companies in the UK aim to pay customers to stop using their electricity as a result.
