At the 2022 AMAs, Chris was announced as the winner of the Favorite Male R&B Artist to which the crowd erupted in boos. Kelly Rowland, who was presenting the award told the audience to “chill out” and then later doubled down to defend Chris Brown.

Asked about Chris’ performance getting cancelled, Jordin said, “You love asking me about Chris, but we love Chris. He should’ve been there.”

“Honestly, I think that shouldn’t even be a conversation anymore. It’s about his talent. They shouldn’t have cancelled the performance. That’s how I feel about it,” Jordin told TMZ. “People deserve to be able to grow, and learn and be able to live their life without things hanging over them. Everybody deserves that. Him especially.”
