Armie Hammer skyrocketed to fame in 2017 when he starred in Call Me By Your Name since then he has had a bit of a downturn and no one wants to work with him except maybe Luca Guadagnino.

Luca Guadagnino May Do A Sequel To His Hit Film

Call Me By Your Name was a smash for the director. It earned an Oscar nomination and made stars out of the main characters and the director. Guadagnino is so happy with the success of his film that he sometimes thinks about making a sequel.

Don’t get all excited he hasn’t made any strides in doing so and this isn’t an announcement about another film being on the way, he just wants us to know that sometimes, he thinks about it. For the cover story of Variety, the director shared that one day… maybe. But only if he can work with the same cast.

He went on to say, “It’s a wish and a desire,” although he has no idea how it will take place, it looks like he is stewing on it, and somewhere down the line, there might be a sequel but only if he can use the same cast.

“I have not made up my mind about what would be the story,” he admits but, there you have it, it’s a possibility. The only thing that might be a little off is. Hammer is kind of on everyone’s s**t list.

Armie Hammer Faced Sexual Assault Accusations

The actor hasn’t been working as an actor for quite some time so, would he even be receptive to the possibility? Hammer is now living full-time in the Cayman Islands where he is apparently a leasing agent for timeshares.

It also looks like he is using the island to hide out from all those sexual assault and abuse allegations from several women in the United States. He was accused of rape which he denied via his lawyers in a statement.

“All interactions between Mr. Hammer and his former partners were consensual. They were fully discussed, agreed upon in advance with his partners and mutually participatory. The stories perpetuated on social media were designed to be salacious in an effort to harm Mr. Hammer, but that does not make them true.”

Before all the drama, in 2019, the 36-year-old was giddy about the idea of a sequel for the “special” film but admits it seems unlikely.

“I’m sort of coming around to the idea that the first one was so special for everyone who made it, and so many people who watched it felt like it really touched them or spoke to them. And it felt like a really perfect storm of so many things, that if we do make a second one, I think we’re setting ourselves up for disappointment. I don’t know that anything will match up to the first, you know?”

Luca Guadagnino Has No Comment On Those Allegations

While the director gushed about his film and maybe a sequel, he stayed clear of speaking about the drama surrounding Hammer. He claims that Hammer’s character “Oliver” would still be in the sequel, “Yeah, of course,” he quipped but that didn’t indicate whether or not he chose to use Hammer to reprise the role or move on to someone less controversial.
