UFC star Paulo Costa rants that Brazil can’t win World Cup as they’re all ‘feminists’

UFC star Paulo Costa has launched an astonishing tirade against the Brazil national team – claiming they cannot win the World Cup because they are all 'feminists'.

Tournament favourites Brazil got off to a flying start as they defeated Serbia in convincing style in Qatar on Thursday. Tottenham forward Richarlison fired a second-half double – including a magical acrobatic effort – to seal three points against the stubborn Serbians.

But Brazilian MMA star Costa has now insisted that his nation cannot go on to win their sixth World Cup in a bizarre and incoherent rant on social media. Costa, who has a history of controversial tweets, wants the 'old times back' – calling Tite's team "feminists who apologise for being straight and white."

"Brazilian soccer team were respectable when they had drug dealers to make party’s officials," he wrote in a somewhat unintelligible tweet.

"Shemale f***** like Ronald at 2006 or 2002," he added. "Now they all are feminists or apologise for being straight [and] white. They cannot win the World Cup, sorry. Bring old times back."

Nicknamed 'Borrachinha', the UFC heavyweight attached an old picture of icon Ronaldinho as well as some of Brazil's current stars in his bizarre post. On the same day, the Brazilian also distanced himself from supporting his nation by tweeting: "Stop asking me to talk about Brazil soccer team I’m Mexican."

Costa's contentious tweet comes despite the fact he appears to have similar political leanings with some of Brazil's star players.

Brazil talisman Neymar shared Costa's support of divisive presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro's far-right movement before his recent election loss to Luis Inacio Lula da Silva. Meanwhile, the controversial Costa's future in MMA remains unclear beyond his next fight in February 2023.

‘Borrachinha‘ looks set to return to the cage against former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker at UFC 284 next year, but he is still yet to renew his contract with the fight promotion.
