‘Frankenstein’ Tyson Fury needs ‘electricity’ of boxing to ‘give him life,’ says dad

Tyson Fury is like Frankenstein’s monster – he only comes to life for a fight, his dad says.

Father John, 58, revealed the heavyweight champion needs a jolt of electricity to come to life. He said: “Every time he goes to the big arenas it’s electric and Tyson thrives off it.

“Tyson is like Frankenstein – he needs that electricity to give him life he hasn’t got out of the ring. They should call it fright night – because that’s the only time he’s alive.”

John said Fury is only really alive around boxing. Speaking to betting site freebets.com he added: “What does he do without boxing?

“Walk the dog, take the kids to school, have a coffee, read the paper, go to bed. If that’s not mundane then what is? I live a better life.
“I’m worried for when he does eventually retire. That is when the problems could start.

“As long as he keeps boxing, keeps healthy, keeps fit and has a desire to train hard he’ll be okay, I’d say.”

Fury, 33, defends his WBC World Heavyweight title against Chisora at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London next Saturday (Dec 3).

Fury retired after knocking out Dillian Whyte at Wembley stadium in April, but has come out od retirement to face Del Boy. He has a record of 32 wins, no defeats and one draw, and has spoken in the past of struggling with depression and boxing helps him overcome his demons.
