Andy Gray compares Piers Morgan to Marmite – then says he doesn’t like Marmite

Former Sky Sports pundit Andy Gray stunningly compared Piers Morgan to Marmite before saying he doesn't enjoy the latter.

Football broadcasting duo Gray and Richard Keys were invited on to Morgan's show on TalkTV for their first UK TV interview since being fired by Sky. The pair were sacked in 2011 after off-air audio of them making sexist remarks about Premier League official Sian Massey was leaked.

The duo are now largely reserved to their roles on Qatari station beIN Sports. And it wasn't long before Piers quizzed them on why they accepted speaking to him out of all of the other journalists.

Gray's immediate response was: "I like your style… is it fair to say Piers is a bit like Marmite?"

A blushing Morgan responded by saying: "Very much so." But the Scot immediately followed up with: "I don't like Marmite."

Gray did go on to repeat that he respected Morgan, unlike the equally-polarising food spread.

Morgan is a UK television figure that divides opinion unlike no other. He famously left breakfast show Good Morning Britain over a row after his comments about Meghan Markle.

The presenter claimed "didn't believe a word" the Duchess of Sussex had said in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, before criticising ITV for "censoring" him on his views.

Morgan is also known for his divisive football opinions often shared on Twitter. He is a keen supporter of Cristiano Ronaldo and even gave the ex-Manchester United star a platform to criticise the club while he still played for them.
