Beloved UK girl group Girls Aloud won legions of fans as they dominated the music charts from 2002 to 2012.

Finding fame on ITV's Popstars: The Rivals, the reality TV group faced plenty scepticism in their early days due to being formed on screen.

After facing former manager Louis Walsh admitting he didn't want the group and students chucking things at them during university gigs, it's safe to say plenty of people didn't see them succeeding.

But Cheryl, Nadine, Sarah, Kimberley and Nicola defied all the odds and went to become one of the most successful girl groups in British history.
