Canelo Alvarez has taken aim at Sergio Aguero as the legendary boxer continues his rampage against the Argentina national squad.

The Mexican reacted on social media after a clip emerged in the aftermath of Argentina's 2-0 World Cup win over his nation in the World Cup, where Lionel Messi was seen supposedly cleaning the floor with a Mexico flag.

The fighter tweeted: “Did you guys see Messi cleaning the floor with our jersey and flag? He better pray to God that I don’t find him.

“Just like I respect Argentina, he has to respect Mexico! I’m not talking about the country [as a whole], just about the bulls*** that Messi did.”

Afterwards, Aguero and Cesc Fabregas both got involved in the spat. Fabregas, a former team-mate of Messi, said online: “You neither know the person, nor do you understand how a dressing room works or what happens after a game.

“ALL t-shirts, even the ones we wear ourselves, go on the floor and are washed afterwards. And more when you celebrate an important victory.”

Meanwhile, Manchester City legend Aguero made a similar point, tweeting: “Mr. Canelo, don’t look for excuses or problems, surely you don’t know about football and what happens in a dressing room.

“The shirts are always on the floor after the games are over due to sweat and then if you see well, he makes the movement to remove the prize and accidentally hits it.”

But now Canelo has hit out at the former striker, quote-tweeting Aguero and saying: “You too, b******? You used to write me, ‘oh, oh, Canelo’, and now you’re crying. Don’t be a hypocrite, b******.”

The spat comes after Messi led Argentina to a 2-0 win over Mexico on Saturday night, leaving Canelo's nation on the brink of World Cup elimination. Mexico have one point after two games and need to beat Saudi Arabia to have any chance of making it through to the last-16.
