Kim Kardashian is slowly but surely cutting her ties with Balenciaga.

Days after she issued a public statement about “re-evaluating” her relationship with the fashion label, the business mogul has declined offers from the brand.

What’s more, Kim is refusing to wear outfits she was set to wear at upcoming events.

Her departure from the brand comes after Balenciaga ran a campaign in which minor children held teddy bear backpacks wearing BDSM-inspired outfits.

The campaign photos also notably featured legal documents on child pornography cases, which made it all the more scandalous. In response to the massive wave of criticism, Balenciaga took down the post and other previous Instagram pictures.

Per reports, sources close to the situation say Balenciaga presented Kim with an offer to do a 2023 campaign before the BDSM ads went live.

Kim reportedly rejected to do the 2023 campaign before releasing her statement.

She was set to wear Balenciaga at upcoming events, but has called those outfits off and contacted designers for new options.

The Skims creator was named the face of Balenciaga in February.

Many people online have shown their disapproval of Kim for not speaking out about the fashion house right away.

Sources told TMZ she’s not even locked into a contract with Balenciaga right now, and isn’t directly making money from the company.

On Sunday, November 27th, Kim released a statement on Twitter which read, “I appreciate Balenciaga’s removal of the campaigns and apology. In speaking with them, I believe they understand the seriousness of the issue and will take the necessary measures for this. to never happen again. As for my future with Balenciaga, I am currently re-evaluating my relationship with the brand, basing it off their willingness to accept accountability for something that should have never happened to begin with – & the actions I am expecting to see them take to protect children.”

Kim Called “Insincere” & “Full Of S**t”

The Blast reported on the backlash this response garnered.

Shortly after her statement online, Kim was seen in skimpy hot pants in an impromptu photoshoot. The image and its proximity to her post brought into question her sincerity.

Fans made several posts accusing the reality star of trying to wait for things to blow over and demanded that she cut ties with Balenciaga.

A comment read, “You can’t be that outraged if you’re going to continue to model for them. I applaud u for speaking up, but the fact that this even happened speaks volumes, and so publicly at that. Shame on Balenciaga and anyone who still supports them. Things like this don’t deserve a second chance.”

Another aggrieved fan wrote, “Delete this again and come back with the right statement. One that says ‘I am cutting ties with Balenciaga due to the disturbing images in their campaign involving children.’ The only statement that should have been made.”

Youtuber Blair White commented that the billionaire is “full of sh*t” for not cutting ties with the brand completely.

She wrote, “Cut ties completely or you’re full of sh*t, Kim. You are very obviously kicking the ball down the road so you can continue your business relationship with them once this blows over. It’s not difficult to draw the line at child porn, and your inability to do so is telling.”
