Strictly fans fume as tribute to late Irene Cara is ‘missed’ despite Kym Marsh dance

Strictly fans have been fuming amid claims the ballroom dancing show "missed" paying a full tribute to the late Fame and Flashdance singer Irene Cara.

Former Corrie star Kym Marsh, 46, paid homage to Cara, who played the role of Coco Hernandez in the 1980 blockbuster film Fame and recorded the title song, with her performance yesterday (Friday).

However, some fans were less than impressed that a more fulsome tribute was not made after Cara died last month at the age of 63.

One said: "I know I’m a bit late to the party but someone should absolutely mentioned the sad death of Irene Cara.

That was wrong," while another opined: "Loved Kim's dance but can't believe no one mentioned Irene Cara."

A third added: "Are they going to mention that the iconic Irene Cara died this week??!!" while a further commentator said: "IRENE CARA Mention please!!!!!"
