When Jennifer Saginor first stepped foot into the Playboy Mansion aged six, she saw it as a "magical kingdom".

As she was the daughter of Hugh Hefner's former doctor – Mark Saginor, AKA Dr Feelgood due to the pills he allegedly prescribed – butlers would cater to her every wish.

They dropped her to school in limousines, took her to see exotic animals in the Playboy zoo, whirled her around at rollerskating parties and let her feast on unlimited sweets in the games room.

But after moving into the famous property aged 11, Jennifer began to uncover its darker side.

The 51-year-old, from California in the US, recently shared her story on Channel 4 documentary – Secrets of Playboy.

She revealed how seeing sex, drugs and debauchery in the Mansion from a young age impacted her as a person.

“The Mansion was like a magical kingdom – I could have anything I wanted.

“The game room was unbelievable, I would take as many gum balls and M&Ms as I wanted.

“In the morning, the butlers would make my lunch and I would get into the house limo and go to school.

“There was a zoo on the Mansion property too.

“All the Playmates would watch over me and these girls became substitute mother figures…

“We used to always play dress up, go rollerskating on the tennis court, for me those connections became everything."

Jennifer had plenty of positive interactions with Hefner when she was a kid too – and she viewed him as a father figure.

She said: “I had so many happy memories of myself with Hef – I remember sitting on my father’s knee while him and Hef were playing backgammon.

“We would play kimball in the arcade. He made me feel so special – he was such a soft, nurturing and paternal figure."

This childlike innocence was shattered when Jennifer moved into her teenage years.

She said: “Hef would kiss with his mouth open in sort of a French kiss sort of way.

“I always thought it was strange that someone who was like my uncle would kiss like that – but my father told me that’s what people do when they love each other.”

While Jennifer used to see the Mansion as a place people could explore freedom and express themselves, she came to realise it was "much more sinister".

She witnessed Playmates being ridiculed over their appearances – and soon became self-conscious about her own body.

She claimed: “I was trained to look at women the way they did – as commodities.

“My father used to tell me to watch it because I could gain weight in my hips. At a young age he’d go over our bodies with us – my sister and I.

“That was nerve-wracking because I don’t think either of us thought we measured up to what we thought was acceptable.

“I got my own surgery at 15. It’s just awful.”

As well as having body hang-ups as a child, Jennifer was exposed to sexuality when she was still "immature emotionally".

As a teen, she'd sneak out of her bedroom to watch Playmates romping with guests in the Mansion.

She recalled: “I was just so curious about what was happening down the hall and I would see some of these girls doing things I didn’t recognise.

“I would see them with naked with men all around them. I would see them on all fours with drugs. It scared me.

“The men were laughing and I just remember thinking ‘I never want to be like these girls, running around like animals’."

Jennifer said the "open" atmosphere of the Playboy Mansion "drew (her) in".

She found herself falling in love with one of Hefner's girlfriends – and slept with her while underage.

Jennifer said: “When I was 15 I fell in love with one of Hefner’s main girlfriends. I felt very empowered because I was very young.

“We, over time, became very close as she was someone who ran away so young.

“One night she ordered daiquiris and one thing led to another. I think she thought I’d been with a girl before.

“It really took away the loneliness of that time.

“I didn’t think there was anything wrong with what I did… (Hefner) didn’t care I was having an affair with his girlfriend.

“They knew, there were cameras everywhere.”

Disturbingly, Jennifer claims the "affair" was allowed to continue until she turned 17 – when she was called to Hefner's room.

She said: “When I went in the room and he and (his girlfriend) were in the bed, I just thought it was fun at first. I didn’t realise what was about to happen.

“I feel like in that moment, Hefner crossed a boundary because he had always treated me like a daughter.

“Here I was, in his room, feeling this uncomfortable energy like I was no longer being looked as his daughter.”

Jennifer claims Hefner's girlfriend burst into tears, which stopped the seedy situation from escalating.

Hugh Hefner died in 2017 – but Jennifer's early experiences continue to haunt her.

She has written a book about her life, which is titled "Playground: A Childhood Lost Inside the Playboy Mansion".

Responding to the Channel 4 documentary, a Playboy spokesperson said: “We trust and validate women and their stories and strongly support the individuals who have come forward to share their experiences in this documentary.

“After almost 70 years in business, there are many elements of Playboy’s long history which we are immensely proud and there are elements we find unworthy of our principles…

“We are proud of the work we have done in recent years to stand for freedom and equality while advancing our mission of pleasure for all.”
