A cock-a-hoop Partick Thistle fan filmed the moment he ran on the pitch to celebrate with players after goalkeeper Jamie Sneddon scored a stunning additional time equaliser.

Thistle had trailed in their Scottish Championship trip to take on Cove Rangers thanks to Mitch Megginson's early goal – with their late point coming from the most unlikely of sources.

Sneddon, 25, flicked home a header from a corner to delight manager Ian McCall and the raucous travelling support that included Twitter user Rab.

Recording from behind the goal as the corner gets swung into the box, Rab shouted 'come on Thistle' before climbing over the advertising boards as the ball nestled in the net.

Running towards the huddle of delighted players who were already celebrating with subs, coaches and other supporters – the shouting and cheering continued with the game finishing all square.

One fellow fan said in a simple response: "Quite possibly the greatest video on the internet."

Talking about his goal with the club media, Sneddon said: "It's crazy. It hasn't really sunk in yet.

"I'm not sure how long it's been since the goal but it's been mental, the most surreal feeling of my life so far. I'm sure later tonight it might sink in at some stage and I look forward to watching it back."

He added: "Not a lot (went through my head before the goal). The boys have been telling me that it's the best header they've ever seen and things like that, they've just showed my a picture and I'm about two feet off the ground.

"I genuinely can't remember it, I started at the back post for some reason and began arching my way round. Next thing I know the ball is just there and it's all a blur."

The goal leaves Thistle fifth in the table following seven wins and seven defeats from 17 fixtures, with Ayr leading the race for promotion.

Thistle, who were last in the Scottish Premiership in 2017/19, dropped down to League One back in 2020 before returning to the second tier the following year.
