Aerosmith Cancels Another Show Due To Steven Tyler’s Health

Aerosmith fans are having a tough time lately!

The American rock band, which consists of Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, and Brad Whitford, had an ongoing residency scheduled to run from September to December. Unfortunately, they were forced to cancel its planned Friday night show in Las Vegas at the Dolby Live theater because of the sudden illness of their lead vocalist.

Taking to Instagram, the team posted a statement that read, “It is with great disappointment that we are forced to cancel tonight’s show in Las Vegas due to Steven feeling unwell and unable to perform.”

Sounding optimistic, they stated that the 74-year-old is expected to make a full recovery for the next show slated for Monday night as they once again apologized for the last-minute announcement.

They concluded by assuring fans that they would be refunded, writing, “Tickets purchased through Ticketmaster.com will be automatically refunded. All other refunds will be available at the point of purchase.”

This is not the first cancellation the band has been forced to do because of Tyler, as earlier this year, The Blast reported that fans were made to say goodbye to seeing them perform that summer for the same reasons.

According to reports, the “Sweet Emotion” singer checked into rehab voluntarily after relapsing into drug use via pain medication for his injured leg. The Boston native band confirmed the news in a statement, writing:

“As many of you know, our beloved brother Steven has worked on his sobriety for many years.

They went on to explain the reason for the relapse, saying, “After foot surgery to prepare for the stage and the necessity of pain management during the process, he has recently relapsed and voluntarily entered a treatment program to concentrate on his health and recovery.”

The “Get Your Wings” stars apologized to their fans for canceling the first set of their residency for June and July. They noted that the reason for doing so was to enable their beloved team member to focus on getting better while informing them that they would be back for the September leg of the show.

Aerosmith was effusive in expressing their regret, especially to their loyal fans who would travel from far places just to watch them perform live. They concluded the lengthy message by thanking their followers for supporting Tyler.

The message also contained information regarding where they could get their refunds. Despite the bad news, fans were quick to respond to the post with comments showing love to the “Walk This Way” crooner, writing, “You got this! Stay strong,” “Prayers for a healthy recovery stay strong ?,” “Glad he knew to ask for help, sending thoughts of a successful recovery!” “You are LOVED ❤️! Sending you ? & ?,” amongst others.

After seeking help for himself, The Blast shared that the star was up and ready to get back on stage to the delight of his fans. Reported to now be “totally clean and sober,” TMZ announced the good news while noting that he may have stayed longer than expected which is supposed to be just thirty days.

Sources shared that he sported a fresh appearance and had put on a healthy weight, indicating that he had made some progress in the rehabilitation facility. While hopes are high, they also noted that the “We’re All Somebody From Somewhere” star is highly aware of his addiction and knows it is a struggle he will have to be mindful of for a while.

With his recent struggle, fans were made to recall that he had struggled with sobriety for a very long time bringing to remembrance when his bandmates staged an intervention for him in 1988 by sending him to rehab while they went on vacation.

Although he was upset about it at the time and even years later, the “Dream On” crooner was later grateful to them for trying to help him get sober.
