Ebanie Bridges’ mouthy opponent labels Blonde Bomber a ‘fat c***’ ahead of crunch fight
Ebanie Bridges was brutally labelled a “fat c***” by her opponent Shannon O’Connell on Thursday.
Bridges will defend her bantamweight title against fellow Australian boxer O’Connell on Saturday – and things are heating up between the pair.
The Blonde Bomber already jokingly admitted she is looking forward to indulging in some Australian meat pies and getting 'fat again' after their fight on Saturday. But ‘Shotgun’ Shannon has now openly ridiculed Bridges about her weight.

Footage uploaded to Instagram stories by Matchroom Boxing showed Bridges promoting the title fight by training in the ring in front of photographers. But O’Connell, standing outside and watching on, questioned her opponent’s actual weight ahead of the grudge match.
She said: “That’s bull****, she’s a fat c***. There’s not a chance she was only 55kg this morning.”
It comes as the latest in the war of words between the Aussie duo. O’Connell has made no secret of her strong dislike for the 36-year-old in the build-up, particularly taking aim at Bridges’ famously revealing outfits at weigh-ins.
She said recently: "The rivalry probably came from me not liking the way Ebanie conducts herself. ’ve got a 15-year-old daughter and if I was doing the things Ebanie is doing it would be basically telling my 15-year-old daughter, ‘get your clothes off and you can basically get what you want in life’.
“That’s not what I’m about. Guy or girl it doesn’t matter who you are and what you’ve done – work hard for what you want.
“She knows what she’s doing getting on those scales’ half naked in her lingerie. She knows what she’s doing buying Eddie Hearn those sunglasses.
“She knows everything she’s doing. So for her to be acting dumb saying, ‘I’m just doing what everyone else is doing’. No she’s not – she knows what she’s about.”
