Sacha Baron Cohen As ‘Borat’ Rips Into Kanye West For Being ‘Too Antisemitic’
Sacha Baron Cohen recently revived his famous comedic character, Borat Sagdiyev, to slam controversial rapper Kanye West for being “too antisemitic.” The actor is known for his movie and comedic performances as fictional characters like Borat, Ali G, Admiral General Aladeen, and Brüno Gehard.
Cohen’s character Borat is a somewhat misunderstood fictional Kazakhstani journalist who, besides his comedic remarks, is known for making antisemitic jabs. This is mainly seen as ironic humor, particularly because of Cohen’s Jewish heritage.
Since West’s pro-Adolf Hitler remarks, a number of celebrities, such as Natalie Portman and now Cohen, have spoken up against his comments. The rapper previously revealed that he “liked” the dictator and highlighted Hitler’s achievements when alive.

Sacha Baron Cohen Performed At The Kennedy Center Honors
Cohen made his first appearance of Borat in a while during the Kennedy Center Honors to pay tribute to U2 and, jokingly, of course, slammed West for being too antisemitic. The event had several notable people in attendance, including President Joe Biden, Paul Pelosi, and several other A-list celebrities like Gladys Knight and George Clooney.
During his bit, Cohen aimed jokes at President Biden and commented on how beautiful his wife looked in his own way. The comedian started with, “I know the president of US and A is here,” Cohen said per TMZ. “Where are you, Mr. Trump?”
While addressing President Biden directly, the “Grimsby” actor said, “You don’t look so good. Where has your glorious big belly gone? And your pretty orange skin has become pale… But I see you have a new wife. Wawa-woooah! She is very erotic. I must look away before I get a Bono.”

Cohen went on to point out West’s remark, joking about how the US, led by the rapper, was attempting to steal the top spot of antisemitism from Kazakhstan. He said, per TMZ, “Before I proceed, I will say I am very upset about the antisemitism in US and A. It not fair. Kazakhstan is number 1 Jew-crushing nation. Stop stealing our hobby. Stop the steal! Stop the steal!”
The comedian continued, “Your Kanye, he tried to move to Kazakhstan and even changed his name to Kazakhstanye West. But, we said: No, he too antisemitic, even for us.”
Cohen, as Borat, went on to perform a parody version of the popular U2 song “With or Without You” but changed the lyrics to “with or without Jews.” The comedian quipped mid-performance, “What’s the problem? They loved this at Mar-a-Lago. They chose ‘without Jews.’”
Kanye West Praised Hitler
Self-acclaimed antisemitic rapper, West, took his comments about Jews a step further earlier this month when he said he liked Hitler. The German dictator is known as the leader of the Nazi party and the driving force behind the murder of millions of Jews, widely referred to as “The Holocaust.”
During an interview with Alex Jones on his far-right conspiracy-theory show, “Infowars,” the father of four disclosed that he liked the dreaded dictator and claimed that he saw “good things” he saw in him. While trying to defend West against the ongoing backlash Jones said, “You’re not Hitler. You’re not a Nazi. You don’t deserve to be called that and demonized.”
Rather than the answer the host expected, the artist responded, “Well, I see good things about Hitler also. I love everyone.” He went on to note that Hitler “invented the highways” as well as “the very microphone that [he uses] as a musician,” and as such, had his good points.
West said, “You can’t say out loud that this person ever did anything good, and I’m done with that. I’m done with the classifications. Every human being has something of value that they brought to the table, especially Hitler. How about that one?”
Natalie Portman Condemns Kanye West’s Antisemitism
Shortly before Cohen’s comedic performance, Oscar-winning actress Portman joined other celebrities to condemn recent antisemitic remarks. While she did not mention West directly, her comments came at a time the rapper faced intense criticism for his recent interview praising German dictator Hitler.
The actress, who is Jewish herself, revealed that upon seeing the spread of antisemitism, her heart dropped. Portman’s post read, “This hatred must be combatted with boundless love for each other. Today, I send extra love to my fellow Jews. And I send love to all those standing with us against these violent words and actions.”
She continued, “It’s been painful and frightening to listen to, and I’m extremely grateful to those who continue to speak up against antisemitism with us and against all forms of racism.”
