Daily Star Sport understand that White became unhappy in the England camp and struggled to mix with his fellow team-mates.

Three Lions stars have looked jubilant in each other's company in the main throughout the tenure of Southgate, with Bukayo Saka's spelling challenges delighting supporters this winter.

However, not everyone felt at home away from their club setting, with White's discomfort coming before the alleged row over information regarding opposition.

Following that revelation, White's quotes over his relationship with football resurfaced, with the 25-year-old not a fan of watching the sport.

With his family now safe, Sterling has returned to the Middle East to be with his colleagues and train before their quarter-final clash against France.

The winners of England and France will face either Portugal or Morocco in the semi-finals, with Argentina vs Netherlands and Brazil vs Croatia in the other side of the draw.
