Darrell Kelley’s ‘F*** You Kanye’ Unites Black and Jewish Communities Against Racism and Antisemitism

An R&B singer/songwriter famous for popularizing protest music has just dropped a hit social activism record that is taking on Kanye West.

Darrell Kelley is pointing the finger at Ye (Kanye) West following his antisemitic outbreak in October. Kelley, who has previously made songs shaming the NRA for blocking “common sense” gun control laws, songs condemning police brutality, and songs expressing his sadness over the invasion of Ukraine — let loose on his new track ‘F–k You Kanye.’ That’s right, the song is literally named, F Kanye!

The track was released in November and specifically calls West a “liar,” claiming his remarks about George Floyd’s death are delusional, and repeatedly calls him a racist antisemite.

The new song echoes popular sentiments in the Jewish and Black community after West’s statements regarding George Floyd and Donald Trump were hailed as antisemitic and racist. The chorus, repeats the sentence “I know how George Floyd died/ The whole world watched him die.” The sentence ends with a shot at the former President of the United States and Kanye’s friendship.

Kelley is known in the music industry as a songwriting wizard, transforming people’s anger and emotions into a masterful R&B/Soul melody.

The artist is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and began his musical career by performing his own songs during an annual employee appreciation dinner at his restaurant, Soul Delicious Grill and Buffet. His song “A Storm is Coming” started charting after it got promoted to college radio, and when one day in 2018 a client Kelley was mentoring failed to show up at a recording studio Kelley took the opportunity to record his own song “Unity.” The rest is history.

Also the founder of UWGEAM, a spiritual group focused on promoting unity and love regardless of religion, it made complete sense for Kelley to react so sharply to West’s antisemitic tweets. UWGEAM stands for God of the Universe, God of the World, God of all Gods, God of Everything, and God of Anything including Me. Kelley’s 2016 book titled “The Book of UWGEAM” is all about putting God first in order to maintain a better life.

The singer believes “F–k You Kanye” is a song many will feel is a well-deserved slap in the face back to Ye after all his racist and antisemitic offenses. Kelley has once again proved his voice is a powerful tool, and by combining his message with R&B/Soul people are able to connect to a social cause in a deeper way.

As you know, Kanye has received a huge backlash from his comments and has lost lucrative deals with both Adidas and Gap.
