The Postal Service & Death Cab For Cutie Are Going On Tour!

Love of mine, someday you will find out Death Cab For Cutie and The Postal Service are going on tour!

2023 marks two decades since Ben Gibbard‘s incredibly lucrative year when he released two career-defining albums. One as a member of The Postal Service, and the other with Death Cab For Cutie!

The former band released the LP “Give Up” which featured the well-known Postal Service tunes “The District Sleeps Alone Tonight” and “Such Great Heights.”

Gibbard, now 46, was joined by Rilo Kiley’s Jenny Lewis and Dntel’s Jimmy Tamborello in The Postal Service. Tattle Tale’s Jen Wood would round out the supergroup with her contribution to background vocals.

The latter band would perhaps go on to be the most memorable aspect of Gibbard’s career. Death Cab For Cutie would release their seminal album “Transalanticism” in October.

Emo-hearted fans will soon have the chance to celebrate the two pivotal pieces of Gibbard’s discography as the two bands embark on a tour!

Gibbard is just as on board to celebrate the pivotal year of “Give Up” and “Transalanticism”s release!

“I know for a fact I’ll never have another year again like 2003,” Gibbard began via statement, “The Postal Service record came out, ‘Transalanticism’ came out. Those two records will be on my tombstone, and I’m totally fine with that. I’ve never had a more creatively-inspired year,” he concluded. (via Consequence)

Death Cab For Cutie released their latest LP, “Asphalt Meadows,” in September.
