‘Frozen’ Star Says They ‘Saved’ Their Character ‘From Being Murdered’
Frozen is one of the most popular Disney franchises in recent memory. However, the story almost featured a now-beloved character’s death.
Jennifer Lee, chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation, was one of the directors of the movie. While accepting an award at the Arts and Entertainment Journalism Awards, she revealed that one of her plans for the movie would have done away with a main character.
The actor behind the role took to social media to reveal that they helped “save” their character.

Jennifer said that she wanted to kill off the snowman Olaf, who is played by Josh Gad.
“My first note was ‘kill the snowman,’” she noted. After the news made headlines, Josh hopped on Twitter to take credit for giving his character a future.
“Grateful that I saved Olaf from being murdered,” he tweeted along a link to a story about the news.
