Dakota Johnson: Shameless self-promotion
Dakota Johnson seen in New York one week ahead of her new film, Cha Cha Real Smooth from annoyingly young filmmaker Cooper Raiff, premiering at the Chicago Critics Film Festival for which I am a programmer

Here is Dakota Johnson out yesterday in New York City. Why am I drawing attention to Dakota Johnson walking out of a hotel? Shameless self-promotion, of course. Johnson stars in Cha Cha Real Smooth, a new film from annoyingly young filmmaker Cooper Raiff, and one week from tonight, Cha Cha Real Smooth is the opening night film of the Chicago Critics Film Festival (for which I am a programmer). After the film, Raiff will be in attendance for a Q&A and to make us all feel old and haggard in comparison. If you’re in and around Chicago, you can see Smooth a month before it premieres and get tickets here.

As for Johnson, she has a couple other films due this year, Am I Ok? from Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allyne, and an adaption of Jane Austen’s Persuasion, in which she plays spinster Anne Elliot and Henry Golding is her loser cousin, Mr. Elliot. I cannot BELIEVE someone cast HENRY GOLDING in a period romantic drama and he ISN’T the hero but whatever. I’m sure he’ll make for a great “period f-ckboy”. And this concludes This Week In Shameless Self-Promotion ft. Dakota Johnson.
