The couple is facing each other at the Fairfax County Circuit Court. The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor is suing his ex-wife for $50 million over a December 2018 op-ed Heard wrote for the Washington Post where she claims that she is a domestic violence survivor. Heard said that, on December 15, 2015, Depp repeatedly punched her with his fists.

“Punching me, punching me repeatedly with his fist, I don’t even remember the pain, just the sound of Johnny’s voice … I f—ing hate you, over and over,” Heard testified. “Pounding the back of the head I could just hear him saying he was going to kill me. He sounded like an animal in pain.”

The jury saw photographs that were reportedly taken after the alleged assault, showing her bruised and with a reportedly broken nose. She also had a bloody lip that she described putting on red lipstick to hide during an appearance for “The Late Show with James Corden” when she was promoting her then-latest film “The Danish Girl,” which she had filmed in London around the time that they got married.

For their 2015 Christmas vacation with his family at his private island in the Bahamas, Heard said that she only went because she wanted to be with the “good Johnny,” despite his repeated physical and sexual assaults.

“My heart was broken … I thought something might happen to him, like he might die, or kill himself,” Heard said of why she went on vacation with Depp and his family in Christmas 2015. “I wanted to stay with the good Johnny that I loved … so I decided to believe it would never happen again.”

During that trip, Heard said that Depp was drunk when he threatened to kill her if she embarrassed him in front of his children again. Heard also indicated that more sexual abuse occurred on the vacation. She alleges that he “shoved his finger inside me through my bathing suit” while saying, “You think you are so tough?”

She then described more graphic violence between the two before she said that Depp was “passed out” by the house the next morning.

On Thursday afternoon, Heard continued to describe graphic instances of violent physical abuse by Depp as she sobbed on the stand.

In 2015, she described how she tried to stop Depp from knocking her sister down a flight of stairs. “In all of my relationship to date with Johnny, I hadn’t landed a blow,” she said.

She added, “Sure I had tried to fight back” and explained how she would sometimes flail her arms “but never landed anything.”

She said that Johnny “looked stunned and laughed” at her and then security came and took him away.

She said that Depp was “going to kill me now.” She told the jury that she thought at the time, “He’s going to kill me and he won’t even realize it.”

Heard will not take the stand again until she is cross-examined on Monday, May 16. Fairfax County Judge Penny Azcarte has a previous commitment, so the court will not meet at all next week.
