The man who was attacked was said to be sitting when approached by the 8 high school girls and stabbed. Soon after the incident took place the 8 girls were found and taken into custody by Toronto Police.

As for the exact location, according to Browne, the girls attacked him in Toronto’s downtown core. This area is filled with high-end condos and hotels. The police believe that the girls attacked the male because he was in possession of alcohol that they wanted.

The attack was described as a long physical “back and forth” with the 8 girls. “The actual incident, proper, lasted almost three minutes long,” claims Browne. “So, walked away, walked toward, walked away, walked toward,” he continued.

The Girls May He Met Online

The police believe that the young attackers are mostly unknown to one another. Detective Browne states that the girls came from different parts of the GTA and furthermore, they did not appear to have met in person before this attack took place.

Det Browne also noted that three of the girls had prior run-ins with police. “We don’t know how or why they met on that evening,” says Browne in the press conference. The girls who range from ages 13 to 16 will now be in jail for Christmas as they are not going in front of the judge until December 29.

An eye witness told police that she was initially the one who the girls approached for alcohol “I didn’t know if they had a knife or what. I was just scared,” she claims, and took off to hide in a nearby shelter.

Meanwhile, the victim, who had stepped in to defend her was attacked and stabbed multiple times. In addition, police believe that the young women had been terrorizing the city for most of the night and believe that other altercations took place.
