Nottingham Forest almost score ‘own goal of the century’ to set up Raheem Sterling gift
Nottingham Forest nearly scored the "own goal of the century" seconds before Raheem Sterling gave Chelsea the lead against them.
Sterling opened the scoring in the 16th minute of the Premier League clash at the City Ground after a bizarre moment which saw Forest defender Willy Boly hit his own crossbar with a looping scorpion kick.
Christian Pulisic's cross bounced off Boly's leg and high into the sky before landing on the frame of the goal and bouncing out to Sterling, who hit the ball first time into the back of the net.

While Chelsea fans were buzzing, rival supporters were disappointed to have not seen the own goal go in.
One pointed out: "Boly nearly scored an own goal from a scorpion kick" Another commented: "Would have been a perfect own goal."

One added: "To be fair to him, I think if he doesn’t get a foot on it, it goes straight to Sterling anyway. But that was wildly close to an absurd own goal."
"Would’ve been own goal of the century," claimed one, while another argued: "We’ve been robbed of an all time great own goal there from Boly."
Sky Sports commentator Jamie Carragher was left bemused at what he'd witnessed. He said: "At first I thought it was [Kai] Havertz, a great piece of skill. But it's actually the defender, puts it onto his own crossbar."
The former Liverpool defender then added: "You can't believe the ball ends up there, Boly just puts it onto his own crossbar. But credit to Raheem Sterling – he's alive, he's ready."
