Channing Tatum is potentially rebooting a classic.

The 42-year-old Magic Mike actor opened up in a new cover story for Vanity Fair.

During the conversation, he revealed that his production company, Free Association, has the rights to 1990′s Ghost, which starred Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg.

“We actually have the rights. Yeah, we have the rights to Ghost,” he confirmed.

“He tells [us] about how his production company, Free Association, is trying to pull together a remake of ‘Ghost,’ with him potentially playing the Patrick Swayze role,” the writer reports.

In the movie, Patrick Swayze plays a murdered banker whose ghost sets out to save his girlfriend (Moore) from his enemies. It won the Oscar for original screenplay and grossed $505 million worldwide, becoming the biggest film of 1990 and third highest-grossing film in history at that time.
