“Glass Onion” and “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” scored major streaming opening weeks.

Both Rian Johnson’s whodunit murder mystery sequel and the Amazon Prime action thriller cracked Nielsen’s streaming Top 10 during the week of December 19-25 with over 1.5 billion viewing minutes within just days after their release.

“Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” earned the top spot on the overall streaming chart with 2.23 billion minutes viewed within the first four days of availability on Netflix following its theatrical release. The movie ranked third on Nielsen’s most streamed movies in a measured week chart behind “Hocus Pocus” (2.73 billion) and “Wonder Woman 1984” (2.25 billion).

By Jan. 10, the film had grown to become Netflix’s fifth most popular film with 253.72 million hours viewed on the site – meaning, it’s very likely the film will continue to stay atop the chart and potentially break its own Nielsen records in the coming weeks.

Sitting just underneath that is “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” with 1.83 billion minutes viewed following the Dec. 21 premiere of Season 3. It’s no shock that the show performed well considering the three-year hiatus that took place before John Krasinski returned as the famous CIA analyst in the highly anticipated installment. The series was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Wednesday” and “The Recruit” both recorded over 1 billion minutes during the viewing window. The Jenna Ortega-led series dropped from its No. 1 slot to No. 3 on the chart with nearly 1.8 billion viewing minutes in its fourth week of availability on the streaming service. “The Recruit” was fourth on the chart with almost 1.7 billion viewing minutes.

Season 3 of “Emily in Paris” also debuted to 1.4 billion minutes, earning the series the No. 5 position on the chart within just five days of its availability.

Unsurprisingly, several holiday favorites joined the overall streaming chart during the holiday week including “Home Alone” (926 million), “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (864 million), “Elf” (836 million).

Also notably making an appearance on the Streaming Originals chart is “The Best Man: The Final Chapters.” The Peacock title makes history as the first original scripted series for the streamer to crack Nielsen’s chart. It currently sits in the No. 5 position with 762 million minutes viewed following its Dec. 22 premiere.

Peacock previously made its debut on Nielsen’s chart during the Oct. 10-16 viewing window with “Halloween Ends.” The film premiered simultaneously both in theaters and on the streamer Oct. 14, garnering 717 million minutes viewed in its first three days.

Elsewhere on the chart is “Cocomelon” (991 million), and “NCIS” (804 million).
