Without starting quarterback Matt Stafford already on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, the Los Angeles Rams may have lost another significant piece of their offense.

Wide receiver Cooper Kupp left the game early in the fourth quarter with a right leg injury; the Rams listed his return as “doubtful.”

Kupp sustained the injury after appearing to have his right ankle rolled up underneath Cardinals’ cornerback Marco Wilson while attempting to catch a pass. Unable to put weight on the leg, Kupp had to be helped to the sidelines.

Kupp suffered a similar scare two weeks ago against the San Francisco 49ers but didn’t end up missing any time.

“It just got rolled up a little bit,” Kupp told ESPN’s Sarah Barshop. “Foot got caught, but I think it was able to slide out of there before there was too much damage.”

The Rams and Kupp are hoping the wideout got lucky again, avoiding a severe injury that might keep him out of action.

Heading into Sunday’s contest, Kupp was second in the NFL in receptions (72), tied for second in touchdown catches (6), and fourth in receiving yards (813).
