Actor, photographer, and ex-child star Dylan Sprouse is best known by fans for his role as Zack in The “Suite Life of Zack and Cody” on Disney Channel. He starred on the show alongside Cole Sprouse, his twin brother, from 2008 to 2011.

Recently, Sprouse told fans that he decided to transform his body and was prouder than ever of his progress. He decided to work out to gain confidence, as much as abs, since he grew up with many insecurities about his body.

He opened up about his progress on Instagram on Thursday and revealed why he decided to get in shape. Keep reading to find out.

The star posted several shirtless and workout pictures while showing his new biceps and abs. In the caption, he recalled being so insecure that he “used to wear a shirt in the pool as a kid,” he said, “so I decided in my late twenties I wanted to change my body and become a meat head.”

The 29-year-old added, “This is my meathead post. Been a long slog, but I’m proud of the progress I’ve made, and I ain’t done yet.” Sprouse also posted a video of his workout session at the gym alongside singer and songwriter Bazzi.

Fans were very impressed and excited for the star, as they applauded him in the comments. “Thank you for being the great example of… with discipline everything is possible,” a fan wrote. Another added, “I am proud that you have taken this path also for your physical and mental health.”

The body transformation is just one phase in Sprouse’s longtime wellness and health journey. In an interview with Daily Beast last year, he explained how his professional and personal direction in life was inspired by addiction.

He said, “We all have our own addictions if we’re going to make a very broad statement about it. I have experienced firsthand, in my family, addiction to drugs.” He also noted that the most challenging part of addiction was the idea and process of getting better.

“The difficulty of a lot of that stuff is this idea of getting well,” Sprouse explained. He added, “a lot of times, people who are substance abusers seem at their best when they’re on substances — it’s the withdrawal that makes them scary to look at and so clearly drug users.”

Not only can Sprouse enter pools shirtless now, but he has also shown fans he is out of his shell and more confident than ever. While he’d usually keep a low profile, the actor recently attended a party at the Vanity Fair’s Academy Awards. He made an appearance with his twin brother, Cole Sprouse, and fans were excited.

At the party, the “Suite Life of Zack & Cody” alums took several pictures together. They also took some with Barbara Palvin, Sprouse’s longtime lover. In March, the twins also made a public appearance when they attended a red carpet premiere.  It was for “Moonshot,” Cole Sprouse’s sci-fi and rom-com film by HBO Max. They were also joined by Palvin and Ari Founder, Cole Sprouse’s girlfriend.

Sprouse is a big supporter of his twin brother and his latest movie, “Moonshot” which also featured Lana Condor. Cole did a lot of publicity campaigns for the movie, and Sprouse posted about it too.

In an interview with Teen Vogue, Cole commented on how he felt about the film. He said, “I think for every character that you play, you should find the human experience in it and try and take a bit of yourself in and a bit of them out with you.”

He also said he bonded with his character, Walt, since he was very adventurous as a child. He said, “I think the thing that Walt and I shared very much was, especially when I was younger, I had a tremendous sense of adventure and wanted to make a mark on the world in a way that [would] etch my name in stone, so to speak.”
