Latto Puts Panties Up For Sale After ‘Panty Police’ Drama, Bid Rises To Over $90K

Latto is out here making lemonades of lemons!

In what can be considered the sleekest business move of the decade, the rapper is set to secure the bag amid her ongoing “panty police” drama with an internet troll. The troll had tried embarrassing the “It’s Giving” hitmaker over wearing the same pair of panties on two different occasions. Although Latto clapped back at the critic, she took things further by putting the panties in question up for bid.

Barely 48 hours after she called out the online troll, Latto has set the internet on fire again after placing the panties in question up for sale on eBay. The rapper had linked the eBay listing, which started at 99 cents, to her Instagram profile, prompting an influx of people flocking to her page.

The listing brought about 105 bidders, giving the thong a fighting chance amongst other products. Unfortunately, the e-commerce platform took it down for violating their terms against selling used underwear before any of Latto’s fans could cop them.

Per an update from TheShadeRoom, final screenshots showed that bids for the skimpy thong reached a whopping $95,650 before the takedown. Latto stepped under the upload to respond, “Prolly smell like a Frappuccino.”

The response immediately caught the attention of supporters, who gave it over 13k likes and hundreds of comments, with many of them praising the songwriter for her business acumen.

The same fans had trooped under the 24-year-old’s announcement post to share their take on the ongoing drama. “Sell them with the ? trail in the middle and watch you make a million dollars,” one person advised her, as another called her “smart,” and a third said she was “hilarious.”

A fourth person jokingly commented, “Ain’t nobody fin buy these Imao.., what’s the link tho,” and a fifth lauded, “She finna get a quick couple HUNNID THOUSANDS off some 5 dollar panties real definition of capitalism.”

In a follow-up shared to her Instagram Story, Latto gave viewers a look at her panty drawer, claiming that she got them from Target for $5 each. She counted five cheetah panties, which were “just the clean ones,” before showing off the other pairs in her stash.

The “B*tch From Da Souf” hitmaker landed on a pair of white panties, telling viewers she might “throw those on” next time. The cheetah thongs made a comeback in a subsequent post that showed them laid out on a flat surface. She wrote across the photo:

“I’m gonna wear a pair today and sell em tomorrow,” across the pic.

The Blast had previously shared that a Twitter user shared the pictures that began the online controversy. In the first frame of her tweet, is seen in a pink tracksuit with “Juicy” written across the bottom, standing in front of a sink and mirror.

The “Big Energy” rapper accessorized with a diamond necklace as seen in the mirror, pink-tinted sunglasses, and the cheetah print thong. The panties reappeared in the next frame, which features Latto looking back at the camera while donning an all-denim outfit comprising a cropped Jean jacket and matching bottoms.

Both the jacket and bottoms came with fur-like embellishments around the wrist, edges, and sides. The 2022 BET Award winner for Best New Artist was caught in mid-stride as she posed next to a black vehicle with two occupants.

Latto looked back at the camera with a face full of makeup, including faux lashes, nose contour, and nude lipstick with dark liner. Extraathique queried, “Can’t afford new panties ?” above the photos, guaranteeing a slam from the Billboard Music Awards nominee’s fanbase.

“y’all want her to be ugly so bad and it’s not working,” one person claimed as another told the original poster that “washing machines exist.” A third person claimed that social media was responsible for making people think others “wash their garments” and re-wear them.

However, the best clap back remains Latto’s “Oh no, it’s the panty police” tweet. It has earned 135k likes, over 7k retweets, and nearly 2k replies applauding her.
