Nia Long Fans Away Tears While Finally Talking About Ime Udoka Affair
Nia Long is opening up about that cheating scandal with Ime Udoka that has her high tailing it back to Los Angeles.

The long-time actress made headlines ahead of the holidays when it was revealed that her basketball coach fiancé Ime was cheating on her with a real basic chick who also worked in the sports industry as part of the franchise staff for the Boston Celtics.
The Best Man actress didn’t say a word about the incident she packed up her son and got the hell out of dodge. Now, she is sharing her thoughts on the matter with Yahoo! Entertainment. She reflects on the “devastating” time she went through.
“I’ve had some pretty devastating moments in my life over the last couple of months,” she admitted. “And I’ve had to just say, ‘It’s alright. You’ll pick yourself back up and,’” Nia paused due to getting emotional delving into this situation.
Nia Long Held Back Tears
The 52-year-old was extremely emotional reminiscing on how it all went down. “Oh my god. I’m about to cry,” she admits. “You’ll pick yourself back up and keep moving,’” she said while fanning tears put of her eyes.
Ime faced a huge consequence when the news broke about his fraternizing on the job, he was suspended as head coach of the Celtics. Ime, who shares a son with Nia issued a public apology regarding the affair.
“I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team’s decision,” said Ime in a statement to ESPN in September. “Out of respect for everyone involved, I will have no further comment.”
Nia Long Was Blindsided
Ime was clowned and continues to be clowned extremely hard online by fans who accused him of “fumbling the bag” by cheating on Nia with someone who “wasn’t even close” to the actress’s standards.
Nia admits she was “blindsided” by the affair but was more “heartbroken” at how her son was treated. “I think the most heartbreaking thing about all of this was seeing my son’s face when the Boston Celtics organization decided to make a very private situation public,” she told The Hollywood Reporter at the end of the year.
Nia and Ime’s son is named Kez and he is only 11 years old. “No one from the Celtics organization has even called to see if I’m OK, to see if my children are OK,” pointed out Nia, very annoyed. “It’s very disappointing.”
The former couple began dating in 2010 when they were set up through mutual friends. In 2015, they finally got engaged. Kez is the only child they share, Nia is also a mom to 22-year-old Massai II from a previous relationship.
The Celtics Are Over Ime Udoka
The Celtics also released their own statement regarding Ime’s suspension. “A decision about his future with the Celtics beyond this season will be made at a later date.” The 45-year-old was hired for the job by Steve Nash’s coaching staff in 2021.
He moved Nia to cold Boston only to cheat and waste over ten of her good years. No one is happy with Ime currently.
