Nia Long Condemns Celtics for Making Ime Udoka’s Affair Public
Nia Long doesn’t have a high opinion for the Boston Celtics, it seems.
In her new interview with New York Magazine, the 52-year-old You People star opened up about former fiance’s Ime Udoka’s affair going public late last year, which ultimately led to the end of their relationship.
Nia said that she’s still upset with the basketball organization for how they handled the affair, which exposed his relationship with a female staffer within the team’s organization.

“The Celtics made a choice to make my family business public, and I don’t understand why,” she told the outlet, adding that “It could’ve all been handled internally.”
Nia went on, saying that maybe “one day I will” understand how and why the organization chose to make the information public, but it’s not today.
“You know, fear drives stupidity, and I’ll leave that right there. I’ve learned that I’m stronger than I ever thought I was,” she said.
Following the news of Ime’s affair going public, he was suspended for the 2022-23 season.
Right now, Nia is focused on their 11-year-old son, Kez.
“My only focus right now is my youngest son ’cause he’s having a really tough time,” Nia says. “I’m sure I have some things that I’m suppressing, but I have to do that to take care of him first. That’s the giving. It’s natural. I’m sure I’ll have to circle back with myself several times to reconcile things. But the one thing I’m trying not to harbor is anger.”
She added that she’s still trying to figure things out: “You’re with someone for 12, 13 years, you think you know them.”
Following the end of their relationship, Nia had to speak up about rumors she was now romantically involved with Omarion.
