Actor Charlie Cox may be back in Hell’s Kitchen sooner than most fans expected.

According to Variety, a new “Daredevil” TV series is currently in the works at Disney+. “Covert Affairs” creators Chris Ord and Matt Corman are reportedly signed on to write and executive produce the new Marvel series starring Matt Murdock.

Earlier this year, Netflix lost the rights to several of its Marvel shows. These included “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones,” “Luke Cage,” and “The Defenders.” The series popped up again a short while later on Disney+.

In 2018, “Daredevil” was canceled after three seasons and many fans thought it was the last time they would see the masked vigilante. However, it seems that Matt Murdock’s story will live on at Disney+. It remains to be seen which actors will reprise their roles from the Netflix series.

Fans can’t forget how Charlie Cox reprised his role as Daredevil in the critically acclaimed Marvel film “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” With Cox officially a part of the larger Marvel universe, there are many different places for Daredevil to pop up.

According to Entertainment Weekly, it’s possible that Cox could show up in a second season of the Disney+ series “Hawkeye,” since the Kingpin villain, played by Vincent D’Onofrio showed up in the first. Maya Lopez/Echo, played by Alaqua Cox (no relation to Charlie Cox!) is also getting her own Disney+ spin-off show called “Echo.” It’s possible that Daredevil may show up there too.

If that wasn’t enough, there is also the “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” series that will debut later this year on Disney+.

Tatiana Maslany stars as She-Hulk’s lawyer, so it’s possible that blind attorney Matt Murdock might appear to dish out some legal advice.

Marvel Boss Says That Matt Murdock Will Not Be Recast

At this point, Entertainment Weekly noted that Cox has not yet confirmed his involvement with the fledgling Disney+ series. That being said, Marvel boss Kevin Feige has previously said that there are no plans to recast Matt Murdock, so it seems likely to assume that Cox will be making a return to the Marvel franchise, especially given his cameo appearance in “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

Last December, Feige had told CinemaBlend that “If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil.”

Charlie Cox has also previously expressed his interest in reprising his role as the masked vigilante. After his cameo appearance, Cox told The Hollywood Reporter that he was eager to return to the Marvel franchise.

“Look, I don’t have any idea what anyone’s plans are at this stage, but I presume there’s more for us to do,” Cox said in February. “I know a little bit — not a huge amount — but a little bit.”

With a new “Daredevil” series announced at Disney+, it seems like it’s just a matter of time until Cox returns to play Daredevil once again. At this time, no release date for the new “Daredevil” Disney+ series has yet to be announced.
