‘The Blueprint’ Rapper Addresses Retirement Rumors

The music producer recently addressed the rumors surrounding his retirement during an episode of Kevin Hart’s “Hart to Heart” series, as per The Blast. When Hart asked if he was retired, Jay-Z responded, “No. Uhm… I tried that, I’m terrible at that.”

He was referring to his announced retirement in 2003 when he threw a farewell party at Madison Square Garden. However, he soon returned to the music scene and collaborated with several artists, releasing the album “Kingdom Come” in 2006.

Explaining his decision to retire, Jay-Z said, “I was really burnt out. I was releasing an album every year, participating in soundtracks, and touring continuously. I finally took a break when I realized I was exhausted.”

Despite not actively making music or plans to release an album, the rapper from Brooklyn stated that he never wants to retire from music. “It’s a gift, and who am I to shut it off?” he said.

When asked about what the future may hold for his music, Jay-Z replied, “It’s open to anything. It might take a different form or have a different interpretation. It might not be an album, or it might be. I have no set plans, but I want to keep the possibilities open.”
