Former England Six Nations star Danny Cipriani was once hit by a double decker bus while on a boozy pub crawl.
Full-back and fly-half Cipriani, now a free agent, slammed into the windscreen of a bus in Leeds’ city centre back in April 2013. The 35-year-old was left sprawled out while wearing face paint and fancy dress, having been on a 14 venue pub crawl dubbed the Otley Run.
Ex-Wasps star Cipriani was given oxygen as he lay on a stretcher at the scene, before being taken to hospital for head and body scans.

The incident came after several rugby players were said to have been “running around drunkenly in the road” by witnesses. Cipriani was claimed by the bus company, First, to have “ran suddenly into the road”.
He collided with the No.6 bus, which was said to be travelling at a safe speed, leaving the windscreen shattered. But despite a witness claiming the front right corner of the bus had “caved in” as a result of the horrific crash, Cipriani left hospital with crutches and a cut face just 24 hours later.
He wrote after being discharged: “Thank you for all the well wishes, means a lot. My ribs are a bit sore. Feel like I’ve been hit by a bus…”
It came as a huge relief to his then-model girlfriend Kelly Brook. Brook, who was crowned FHM’s Sexiest Woman in the World in 2005, had been in London to film ITV2 comedy show Celebrity Juice at the time.
The couple were together for two years, parting ways in 2010 before reuniting again. And the former Page-three girl was “very shaken” before getting the opportunity to speak to hear beau.
Cipriani went on to play for England until 2018. He represented his country 16 times in total, scoring 64 points.
