Rebel Wilson Admits She Wasn’t ‘100% Straight’ Before Dating GF Ramona Agruma
Being in a same-sex relationship seems to be an eye-opener for Rebel Wilson, who came out last June, debuting her relationship with the Australian designer Ramona Agruma.
As someone who had been romantically linked with several men in the past, the “Cats” actress is disclosing that she knew she was not totally straight even before dating Agruma.
Rebel Wilson Wishes She Had Explored Her Sexuality Earlier In Life
In a recent episode of “Life Uncut Podcast,” Wilson openly discussed her sexuality with Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne to whom she revealed the extent of her attraction to women.
When asked if she was always attracted to women before her friend set her up with Agruma or whether she was offended by the setup, she elaborated on her sexuality.
“I knew I wasn’t a 100% straight,” she admitted. “But I don’t know; I guess going to, like, I went to a Christian all-girls, high school and come from quite a conservative family.”She continued, “So, I think if I was, you know, twenty years younger, it wouldn’t have been an issue to, like, explore that part of my sexuality, but I just guess I never quite went there.”
The Australian producer then spoke of her newly released movie “The Almond & the Seahorse,” where she had to kiss a woman. The kiss was “not that big of a deal” to her as she saw it as just “a kiss.”
That changed her perspective about exploring her sexuality as she explained, “And then that kind of made me feel more open to exploring it, but like yeah, it was like I never thought I was a 100% straight.” Wilson spoke to her “good friends” about her sexuality, and she revealed that they all knew the gay part of her though she was not “actively exploring it.”
“I was dating guys, and you know,” she shared. “But then always being like, I wish they were a bit more like this, or it just didn’t quite click in a way.” The 42-year-old then confessed that she had never met a guy she wanted to live with or “you know, was in a deep enough relationship with.”
Recalling her statement on Instagram about searching for a Disney prince when she actually needed a Disney princess, she expressed how lucky she felt to have clicked with her girlfriend. She added, “I do wish maybe I had explored it earlier. I feel like I’m a late bloomer and in the sex, but whatever, I’ve been busy.”
Wilson found the reservations about her coming out with her relationship “interesting,” as she pointed out that her romance was pretty obvious. She clarified, “It was interesting, like because my connection was so great with Ramona, it wasn’t something I hid.”
She continued, “My friends knew about it; we went to, like, the Vanity Fair, Oscars party together, like, so it was pretty obvious, but I just, I didn’t think in 2022 I had to come out or anything.” While the “Isn’t It Romantic” actress knows she is in an “awesome same-sex relationship,” she still doesn’t quite know how to “classify” her sexuality, as she conceded:
“I think it can be complex. It doesn’t mean I was straight, and now I’m suddenly gay – I don’t know, I’m just me and seeing how it goes.”
When Wilson came out with her relationship last year, her touching Instagram post, she received tons of support from allies worldwide. In the post’s caption, she wrote, “I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince… but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess.”
A supporter quickly reacted: “Love you so much – lovely people you are.” A second follower called the lovebirds a “Gorgeous couple & dynamic duo” while sending affection. A third fan was super thrilled for the twosome, whereas a fourth commenter gushed, “Love you both so much!!!”

Although Wilson kept her blossoming relationship with Agruma private, she did not hesitate to flaunt the fashion designer on social media on her 39th birthday in January.
The “Pizza” star flooded her Story with adorable pictures of the lovers in different sceneries. One image showed them posing in front of a store at night and was captioned, “Happy Birthday @ramonaagruma. You’ve brought so much magic into my life.”
Wilson gushed about the celebrant in a second picture, calling her “the cutest” while she further labeled her as “My Disney Princess forever” on a snap of them having a churro.
