Netflix’s New Movie “The Strays” Has Divided Audiences – Here’s Where You Might Recognise The Cast

Netflix recently dropped its newest movie The Strays, a tense thriller about a suburban mother with a terrible secret. Here’s a look at the trailer…

Ashley stars as protagonist Neve, a woman who seemingly has it altogether, but it’s pretty much immediately obvious that that’s all a facade. Ashley is known for her role as Bambi in Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and Ashley Davenport in Revenge. She has also appeared in SalemThe Umbrella Academy, and the Four Weddings and a Funeral TV series.

Carl is a mysterious figure who shows up in Neve’s life one day and seems to cause her extreme discomfort. He’s played by Jorden, you might recognise from the BBC series Mood, Channel 4’s Screw, or the TV mini series Stephen, regarding the murder of Stephen Lawrence. Jorden has also appeared in Dancing in the Dark, Get Gone, and Shepherd’s Delight.

Bukky Bakray as Dione

Having been a fan of Bukky since Rocks, I was excited to see her in a more horror-oriented feature. She plays Dione, another enigmatic inpidual who shows up to seemingly taunt Neve. If you haven’t seen Bukky in Rocks – and you should – you may have caught her in The Gospel According to Gail or You Don’t Know Me.

Justin Salinger as Ian

Ian is Neve’s doting and successful husband who seems to have a somewhat complicated relationship with his wife. Over the decades of his career, you may have seen Justin crop up in everything from Everest to Hanna. However, he is probably best known for the 2004 drama film Enduring Love.

Maria Almeida as Mary

Mary is Neve’s sweet, innocent teenage daughter. She’s played superbly by relative newcomer Maria, who previously starred in 2022 movie Pretty Red Dress.

Samuel Small as Sebastian

Sebastian is Neve’s teenage son who seems to get on well with family, but is also a little bit lost. He’s played by Samuel, who you may recognise as Little Bird in Game of Thrones season four. He has also appeared in So Awkward for CBBC and The Nest for BBC.

The Strays is now available to stream on Netflix. Will you be watching it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
