Star Wars Actor Jokes Mace Windu Is at the Top of Boba Fett’s Hit List

Star Wars actor Temura Morrison recently joked that Jedi Master Mace Windu (Samuel L. Jackson) is at the top of Boba Fett’s hit list. Morrison first joined the science-fiction fantasy franchise in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones as Jango Fett, the bounty hunter who’s DNA was used to create the clone army. He would later play multiple clones in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and Boba Fett in The Book of Boba Fett television series.

After Padmé Amidala’s (Natalie Portman) arrival to Coruscant in Attack of the Clones, she was the target of multiple assassination attempts. The senator was nearly killed in one such attempt but was saved by Anakin at the last moment. Obi-Wan managed to track Jango to Geonosis where he was captured by the Separatists along with Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) and Padmé. In a rescue attempt led by Mace Windu, dozens of Jedi entered the Geonosian stronghold and engaged the droid army. As the battle became heated, Jango joined the fray and attacked Mace Windu. However, the bounty hunter’s quick trigger finger was no match for Mace Windu who quickly killed Jango.

While on the Attack of the Clones 20th Anniversary panel at this year’s Star Wars Celebration, Morrison joked that Mace Windu was at the top of Boba Fett’s hit list. When host Ashley Eckstein asked the actor about joining the production in 2000, Morrison responded playfully remembering his full head of hair and his on-screen nemesis, Mace Windu. Read what the actor said below.

“Oh, yeah. I did have hair back then. So, I miss that. And I was really enjoying the movie up until that Mace Windu guy turned up. In fact, I didn’t see the end of the movie.”

“He’s top of the list for Boba Fett. Mace Windu’s top of the list. The assassination list, I’m talking about.”

Morrison’s comment about not seeing the end of the film received raucous laughter from the audience as Jango had his head sliced off by Mace Windu during that scene. This would most definitely place the Jedi Master at the top of Boba’s hit list. However, due to the events of Revenge of the Sith, the final film of the prequel trilogy, Boba achieving his vengeance would be an impossibility as Mace Windu is seemingly killed by Palpatine.

After the battle on Geonosis, the young orphaned Boba (Daniel Logan) picks up his father’s helmet and mourns his death. The moment marked the beginning of a violent journey to becoming one of the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy. Morrison would later return to Star Wars in 2022 to play Boba in his own television series, but would not get the chance to exact his revenge due to the fact that Windu was killed nearly 25 years earlier at the hands of the Emperor (Ian McDiarmid).
