New Arrivals for Disney+ March 2023

15March 2023 is one of the hottest months of the year for Disney+ subscribers. This, of course, is because of The Mandalorian Season 3. The adventures of Grogu and Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin continue as the beloved duo gets further entangled in the conflicts of Mandalore itself, with the titular bounty hunter carrying the legendary Darksaber in hand. Star Wars fans will be able to enjoy new episodes of The Mandalorian Season 3 and The Bad Batch Season 2 throughout March 2023. This Star Wars streak on Disney+ is just getting started, as the new season of Star Wars: Visions will premiere by the time The Mandalorian Season 3 ends. Plus, both Ahsoka and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew are expected to release on Disney+ in the latter half of 2023.

Moving on from Star Wars, Disney+ is offering a variety of other new selections in March 2023. The Disney+ original film Chang Can Dunk will satisfy those looking for an underdog coming-of-age story. Doogie Kameāloha, M.D., the updated Disney+ revival of the classic sitcom series Doogie Howser, M.D., will premiere its second season. Voices Rising: The Music of Wakanda Forever will be debuting its second episode too and is a must-see for any Marvel fan. The three-part behind-the-scenes series chronicles the making of the music behind Black Panther’s corner of the MCU and features exclusive interviews and tidbits from director Ryan Coogler, composer Ludwig Göransson, and more. Lastly, subscribers who love sinking their teeth into National Geographic documentary programs will be excited for seasons 2-5 of Africa’s Deadliest hitting Disney+ in March 2023 as well.

Our Recs

The Mandalorian: Season 3

The Mandalorian is headed in a totally fresh direction for its third season. Following the previous two seasons which were more focused on serialized storytelling, creator Jon Favreau is seemingly taking a more linear and interconnected approach to exploring the conflicts on the planet Mandalore and within the Mandalorian culture itself. Some of these elements Star Wars fans have never seen this deeply explored in any canon story before, making The Mandalorian Season 3 all the more special.

Pedro Pascal, Katee Sackhoff, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Amy Sedaris, Taika Waititi, and Giancarlo Esposito all return and are now joined by new characters played by Tim Meadows, Christopher Lloyd, and many more. Obviously, viewers can never count out little Grogu and his attachment to Din Djarin taking the spotlight here and there as well.

New episodes of The Mandalorian Season 3 release every Wednesday on Disney+ in March 2023!

Chang Can Dunk

Written and directed by Jingyi Shao, Chang Can Dunk is a coming-of-age sports tale unlike any other to be found on Disney+. Audiences follow 16-year-old Asian-American, Chang (Bloom Li), as he pursues his Basketball dreams at Cresthill High. He is severely underestimated by his peers, which gives him the drive to learn how to slam dunk and prove everyone wrong. In the process of doing so, he takes it upon himself to challenge the school’s all-star Matt (Chase Liefeld) and win the heart of his crush Kristy (Zoe Renee).

Chang Can Dunk also stars Ben Wang as Chang’s best friend Bo and Dexter Darden as DeAndre a former Basketball pro. People looking for a good old-fashioned underdog story need to look no further than Chang Can Dunk on Disney+. This film’s Asian-American lens gives it a more unique perspective than common teen sports movies too.

Chang Can Dunk premieres on Disney+ March 10, 2023!

Doogie Kameāloha, M.D.

DIsney+’s modern revival of the hit ABC medical sitcom series Doogie Howser, M.D. is back for another season. Doogie Kameāloha, M.D. Season 2 now follows Native Hawaiin prodigy Lahela “Doogie” Kameāloha (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) as she has to make some of the most dramatic decisions of her teenage life all the while balancing her rising medical career. Lahela is used to making tough calls on the spot when dealing with her patients, but now she’s caught between choosing between two different young love interests. Peyton Elizabeth Lee stars alongside Kathleen Rose Perkins, Jason Scott Lee, Matthew Sato, Wes Tian, Emma Meisel, Mapuana Makia, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, and the hilarious Ronny Chieng. As a bonus treat, all four seasons of the original Doogie Houser, M.D. led by Neil Patrick Harris are arriving on Disney+ before this new season debuts.

Doogie Kameāloha, M.D. Season 2 hits Disney+ March 31, 2023!
