Reality TV personality Meri Brown has come out to clear the air on her sexuality following rumors that she isn’t straight.

Meri took to social media to address the rumor people were spreading about her being involved with a female friend due to pictures she had been posting on social media of herself and her friends.

She was previously married to Kody Brown but recently split after 32 years, sharing that Kody made the decision.

Meri Brown Says She’s ‘Coming Out As…’

According to E! News, Meri addressed rumors that she was having an affair with a female friend of hers following her divorce from Kody Brown during an Instagram live session.

The “Sister Wives” star noted that the rumors only picked up steam because of the numerous photos she’s taken with female friends as seen on social media.

“It’s a common topic of conversation on whether or not I’m going to come out or not,” she said. “I am coming out as being straight! So, there you go.”

Meri, 52, went on to point out that regardless of who features in her photos, rumor mongers will still incite such statements because “people can’t seem to think that I can be friends, completely platonic friends with females or males!”

“I recently had someone tell me that they read an article that you and I are together,” said Meri’s friend and co-host on Instagram Live.

As the Instagram live session went on, the mother of one revealed that she had nothing against the way other people choose to live their lives.

While she continued, she noted that it was not a bad thing, but people needed to stop the rumor-mongering.

“It’s not a bad thing to be. Whatever you want to be is whoever you are. It’s not a big deal. I just know what I like,” Meri explained.

Meri got married to Kody, 53, in 1990 and lived it up for 32 years before ending their marriage last December. She revealed that Kody “made the decision” to end their marriage during a “Sister Wives: One on One” special in December.

Despite this, Meri is still open to making amends, even though she doesn’t believe he is interested.

Meri And Kody Brown End Their Marriage

According to Meri, she and Kody had spent a decade “working on our relationship in our own unique ways,” but the “Sister Wives” patriarch doesn’t consider himself to be married to her, per People magazine.

“Even since being in Flagstaff, he has led me to believe that he was trying,” she divulged at the time. “You know, our first anniversary that we had here in Flagstaff, it was cheers to a new beginning as opposed to this last anniversary he’s like, ‘I don’t even know why you called me Meri.'”

She continued by saying that she wanted to address the split publicly after Kody made his intention clear, but he objected because he didn’t “want that judgment.”

They eventually took to Instagram to share the news of their breakup. “In light of a recent unapproved press release, we feel compelled to share our own truth, in our own way, and in our own timing,” the post read on both their pages.

“During this process, we’re committed to kindness and respect toward each other and to all members of our family, and we’re also committed to the continued healing of any and all relationships within the family so that we can move forward with forgiveness, grace, and love,” the post concluded.

Meri and Kody both share a son, Leon, 27.
