David Henrie is teaming up with Hyype Space for a “Wizards of Waverly Place”-themed challenge to help raise funds and awareness for the Anna Schindler Foundation.

Users with the most-applauded (or the most liked) video will win a round trip for two to Post Falls in Idaho to participate in the 13th Annual Anna Schindler Foundation Memorial Golf Tournament — alongside David Henrie himself.

The ‘Wizards of Waverly Place Incantation Challenge’

“I wanted to raise some money for the Anna Schindler Foundation, which is an incredible non-profit organization that helps children with cancer and their families,” Henrie told The Blast exclusively.

“I came up with a challenge, which we are calling the ‘Wizards of Waverly Place Incantation Challenge’, where fans have to craft a creative spell and the one with the ‘most claps’ will get to come out and play in the Anna Schindler Foundation Golf Tournament with me later on this year,” he explained of the Hyype Space challenge, which is running through March 31, 2023.

Fans of the former Disney Channel star and the show can put their creative skills to the test by coming up with their very own spell and create a 30-second video casting that spell to grab the attention of Hyype Space users.

What spell would David Henrie use in every day life if he could? He told us he would love to use a time spell. “McReary-Time Reary messed with time and would let you do things over, I would take that for sure,” Henrie said laughing.

How To Enter

If you want to participate in the “Wizards of Waverly Place Incantation Challenge”, make sure to download the Hyype Space app, which is available in the App Store and Google Play. Then, creators must come up with their very own wizardry spell and create a 30-second video showing off the creative spell. Use props, costumes, and whatever else you can to get David Henrie’s attention.

Then, make sure to share your video with your friends and family because the video with the most “claps” will win a round trip for two to Post Falls in Idaho to participate in the 13th Annual Anna Schindler Foundation Memorial Golf Tournament — alongside David Henrie himself.

The Anna Schindler Foundation

David Henrie first got involved with The Anna Schindler Foundation after he participated in a golf tournament a few years ago.

“I remember meeting all sorts of families who had benefited from [The Anna Schindler Foundation] and I was so moved by the stories,” he told The Blast. “I didn’t realize that families had to be, in a sense, separated when one of their kids gets cancer.”

“For example, if you are husband and wife, and you have a few kids and one of them gets cancer, someone has to stay home and work and the rest of the family has to go and help that child go through treatment and that could go on for months or years and that family is kind of broken apart,” he continued. “And they have to rent a house near the hospital because they are so far away from their home and that can get very costly.”

The Anna Schindler Foundation was founded by the Schindler family, whose daughter, Anna, unfortunately, lost her battle with cancer. With this personal experience of having a child with cancer, the Schindler Family understands those who may be going through childhood cancer treatments and the loss of income and family displacement they face.

“They really are making a difference and they really are helping,” Henrie added. “And when I played in that golf tournament I met some of the families and I heard some of the testimonies, and it really moved me and it always stayed on my heart and this was a good opportunity to raise some awareness and help give back to them and help raise some funds.”

“Anyone who can donate anything, it’s going to help someone. It goes directly to the kids and directly to the families.”
