Zack Snyder And Darkseid Tease "Full Circle" Announcement For April

Justice League director Zack Snyder has teased a “full circle” event for April, via a cryptic tweet described as an “incoming transmission” from DC Comics supervillain Darkseid. The tweet urges viewers to save the date, which happens to be April 28-30.

There’s not a lot of information to go off of that post, although it’s fairly unlikely that Snyder will be closing the circle with a return to the DC Extended Universe that began with Snyder’s Man of Steel film in 2013. Darkseid was of course the villain behind the scenes of Justice League, and in the later extended version that was released on HBO Max, he had an expanded role.

The date could also be a reference to the return of SnyderCon, Snyder’s fan convention that aims to raise money for charity, discusses the director’s work, and first debuted in March 2019. The Snyderverse of DC films is nearing the finish line soon, as Shazam: Fury of the Gods debuts this week, Ezra Miller’s Flash movie looks set to hit the reboot button when it arrives in theaters on June 16, 2023, and will be followed by Aquaman: and the Lost Kingdom in December 2023.

Beyond that, James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Studios projects have been mapped out for the next decade and are in the early stages of production. The next few years will see animated series, live-action mini-series, and big budget films released as part of this new creative vision for the DC Universe, which doesn’t include Snyder right now. That’s not to say that Snyder couldn’t potentially be involved in any of these projects, as Gunn and Safran are currently scouting for talent to be involved in their Superman, Authority, and Batman projects alongside several other productions.
