Shakira Shares Her Secret To Getting Over Heartbreak & Gerard Piqué!
Shakira is done crying over spilt milk, aka Gerard Piqué.
The songstress recently blew the top off of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” while performing her and Bizarrap’s hit collaboration, “BZRP Music Sessions #53.”
The woman even showed off her 14 Guinness World Record certificates during her performance.
Shakira Flaunts Her Success In Wake Of Breakup
According to NDTV, the song became the fastest Latin song to reach 100 million views on YouTube after breaking the record for most views by a Latin song on YouTube in 24 hours with 63,000,000.
Despite releasing a number of songs post-Piqué, Shakira explained how it was this song that got her through her breakup.
As Beyoncé once said, “The best revenge is your paper.”
“The thing with this song is it has become an anthem for so many women out there. I’ve had a very rough year after my separation, and writing this song has been so important to me,” she explained. “It’s been a healthy way to channel my emotions.”

It’s no secret that Shakira was extremely hurt by Piqué’s alleged cheating and actions throughout their breakup. She makes many references to him, his new girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti, and she even takes a dig at her ex-mother-in-law.
“After we put out this song, I really felt like I don’t even have fans out there,” Shakira admitted. “I have a sisterhood of women who have been through the same things that I have been through, who think the way I think, who feel the way I feel, who had to put up with so much crap the way I had to.”
Shakira added that she wrote the song for herself and women “out there who needed a forum too.”
Surprisingly, it was Shakira and Piqué’s son, Milan, who encouraged her to work with Bizarrap.

Her first-born son knew the collaboration would be a massive hit!
“He told me, ‘Mom, you’ve got to collaborate with Bizarrap. You have to get on a song with Bizarrap, because you guys are gonna be No. 1,'” Shakira told Fallon. “And he sent a voice note to my manager, Jaime. He said, ‘You got to put my mom together with Bizarrap on a song because they’re going to be No. 1.’ And he was right.”
The former couple announced their breakup last June after nearly 12-years together.
In a joint statement they said, “We regret to confirm that we are separating. We ask for privacy at this moment for the well-being of our children, who are our maximum priority. Thank you in advance for your understanding and respect.”
Despite initially asking for privacy, Shakira definitely exploited the details behind messy breakup in turn for major money.
She is set to move to Miami, Fl. by April 1st with her two children.
The move will help her further her already popular career, which she admits she put on hold so that Piqué could excel at his while playing with FC Barcelona.
He has since retired from playing fútbol.
