Throughout his voice-acting career, Mark Hamill, the actor who portrays Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, has played many major and minor characters in the Scooby-Doo franchise. Since its inception in 1969, Scooby-Doo has often been filled with guest stars, ranging from cameos to entire movies and series centered around including celebrities. Prominent guest stars include Sonny & Cher, the Harlem Globetrotters, and Batman and Robin in The New Scooby-Doo Movies in the 1970s. In more recent films and shows, Mystery, Inc. has met stars like Morgan Freeman, Wonder Woman, and Bill Nye.

While Hamill is best known for playing the Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, he has also had an extensive voice-acting career. Some of his major roles include Fire Lord Ozai in Avatar: The Last Airbender, Art Rosenbaum in Invincible, and the Joker in various Batman movies, television shows, and video games. He has even voiced several characters in the Star Wars universe, such as Darth Bane in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Dobbu Scay, the small alien who feeds coins into BB-8 in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Hamill has also voiced many Scooby-Doo characters over the years, including both regular characters and guest appearances. His Scooby-Doo experience dates back to 1973 with The New Scooby-Doo Movies and stretches to the most recent series, Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?, which premiered in 2019. Corey Anders (The New Scooby-Doo Movies)

Hamill’s first appearance in Scooby-Doo media was as Corey Anders in The New Scooby-Doo Movies, season 2, episode 3, “Mystery in Persia.” The guest stars in this episode were Jeannie, a genie, and her supporting cast from the 1973 animated television show Jeannie. Anders was a high school student who found Jeannie’s bottle, making him her “master.” Alongside the Scooby gang, he and Jeannie helped a prince catch an evil spirit that had been released from its bottle.

Snakebite Scruggs and Airport Manager (Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island)

In 1998, Hamill returned to Scooby-Doo as Snakebite Scruggs, a fisherman obsessed with catching a giant catfish. He was a prime suspect in the Scooby-Doo mystery due to his gruff manner and hatred of tourists, who disturbed his fishing. However, he turned out to be innocent. In an uncredited role, Hamill also voiced the Airport Manager at the airport where Shaggy and Scooby briefly worked – before he fired them.

Steve (Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders)

In this movie from 2000, Steve was a scientist with a government organization called SALF (Search for Alien Life Forms). After he and his co-workers discovered gold in caves beneath government property, they began pretending to be aliens to scare locals away and cover up their mining operations. However, they were inevitably caught by Mystery, Inc.

Captain Guzman, Emperor Caesar Saladicus, and Mortimer Atkinson (What’s New, Scooby-Doo?)

Hamill appeared in two episodes of What’s New, Scooby-Doo?, airing in 2002 and 2003. Captain Guzman was a garbage-barge captain who was helping dump ancient artifacts into Mount Vesuvius, so a corporation could build on the sites without being hindered by archaeological digs. To do this, he dressed as the ghost of Emperor Caesar Saladicus, who commanded a Zombie Gladiator (his accomplice) to attack tourists in Pompeii. In a more minor role, Hamill also portrayed Mortimer Atkinson, the father of a young boy named Tommy, whose Christmas was saved by Mystery, Inc.

Deacon/Babyface Boretti, and Store Owner (Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare)

In this 2010 movie, Hamill played Babyface Boretti, a gangster who was searching for the treasure of his old cellmate, Ricky LaRue. He orchestrated the entire plot of Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare to scare Scooby-Doo and his friends out of a summer camp that was built below a dam. This way, he could blow up the dam and drain the lake behind it, which had submerged the treasure. To help encourage people to leave the camp, he pretended to be a young camper named Deacon. Hamill also portrayed the owner of the Campy City Store and Museum, who helped the Scooby gang understand the story of Ricky LaRue.

Crybaby Clown and Drill Sergeant (Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated)

Crybaby Clown was a major villain in Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated. Appearing in two episodes in 2012, Crybaby Clown escaped the first time Mystery, Inc. tried to trap him due to Daphne not working with the gang at the time. However, the monster later turned out to be Baylor Hotner, a Hollywood movie star and Daphne’s boyfriend. As part of his plot, he had kidnapped Daphne, which led to her breaking up with him a rejoining Mystery, Inc. In Crybaby Clown’s first episode, Hamill also portrayed a Drill Sergeant, who worked at the military academy that Shaggy was briefly forced to attend.

Zip Elvin (Scooby-Doo! Moon Monster Madness)

In 2015, Hamill portrayed Zip Elvin, a retired astronaut who traveled with Mystery, Inc. to a new space resort on the Moon. When everyone had to escape the resort later due to an “alien” rigging it to explode, Zip, Fred, and another astronaut managed to fix another spaceship, ensuring everyone’s survival.

General Stall (Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!)

In this 2015 episode of Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!, General Stall was in charge of Area 53, a secret government base where Mystery, Inc. was detained after witnessing an alien ship crashing into the Earth. General Stall turned out to be the alien though. He had wanted Scooby-Doo and the gang to escape and spread the news of the alien landing, so Area 53 would receive more funding.

Joker, Trickster, and Himself (Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?)

Hamill has appeared in three episodes of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? from 2019 to 2020. In two of these episodes, he portrayed DC villains who turned out to be the monsters in their respective heroes’ guest star episodes. First, he reprised his role as the Joker, who was pretending to be the Man-Bat as he fought against Batman. Second, he portrayed the Trickster, who had disguised himself as a giant teddy bear to fight the Flash. In addition, Hamill also portrayed himself, appearing as the central guest star in one episode. In this Scooby-Doo mystery, Hamill was key to catching a Fox Monster, who had kidnapped one of his old teachers during a class reunion.
