‘Gone Girl’ Actress Admits To Being A Serial Monogamist

After officially filing for divorce from her husband, she instantly adjusted to being a single mother to their son, Sylvester Apollo. According to The Blast, she dished on life after the split during an interview with the hosts of the “Today” show, Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb.

Kotb started the conversation by asking how she felt being single for the first time after being a serial monogamist. Ratajkowski responded excitedly saying, “It’s crazy. It’s so nice. Honestly, I don’t owe anything to anybody — other than my son. That’s the only man.”

The English-born American star explained that she chose the monogamist lifestyle to protect herself because of the industry she was working in. She pointed out that in addition to shielding herself from the “predatory, scary men,” she “just wanted to be loved, honestly, and have that validation.”

While admitting that it was not wrong to want that, she revealed that being able to do her “own thing” for her career and her child was “really nice.” The “My Body” author also noted that she was the “chooser” and was in her “B era.” She further stated, “I like that word because I feel like I’m reappropriating it. It has negative connotations [but] for me, it’s a good thing. I don’t put up with bullsh*t.”
