Lea Michele shared a heartbreaking update on her Instagram Stories, revealing that her 2-year-old son, Ever, has been hospitalized with a “scary health issue.” She expressed her regrets to fans of “Funny Girl” as she will be unable to perform on stage for her scheduled performance –which she has starred in since September 2022.

“I’m so sorry, but unfortunately, I will be out of @funnygirlbway today,” the actress wrote in the caption of a photo of her hand on Ever’s arm. She added, “we are at the hospital with our son dealing with a scary health issue that I need to be here for.”

The 36-year-old concluded the message with another apology and requested prayers for “love and strength.” In the emotional Instagram post, Ever was shown cuddled up with a stuffed pig. Michele shared no further information regarding his condition.

In August 2020, Michele and her husband, Zandy Reich, were overjoyed to welcome their precious little one into the world after a pregnancy described as “very intense” and “very scary.”

During her first trimester, the “Glee” alum had extreme moments of fear and uncertainty as she experienced heavy bleeding and was advised to be on bed rest throughout this period. She shared these details with Katherine Schwarzenegger during an interview in March 2021.

Adding to her worries, a detailed anatomy scan at the 20-week mark revealed “a lot of potential red flag markers” that caused the Golden Globe nominee further concern about the health of her unborn child. However, Michele did not receive confirmation that her child was healthy until very late in her pregnancy.

In May 2022, Michele spoke to US Weekly about becoming a mother saying, “Being a mom is one of the greatest gifts, and I love being Ever’s mom. It was so special making my lullaby album as a tribute to him.”

Last March, the talented actress, and former “Scream Queens” star hinted that she and her husband, Zandy Reich, might be planning to welcome another addition to their family and give their little one, Ever, a sibling. Michele revealed they had struggled to conceive and dealt with some “heartbreaks” along the way.

Despite the challenges, the actress maintained her faith and remained hopeful that they would be blessed with another child when the timing was right. “I have faith God will bring us another when the time is right,” Michele wrote on her social media at the time.

In 2017, Michele and Reich began their love story, and two years later, they exchanged vows in a beautiful ceremony in Northern California. According to People, their intimate wedding was graced by the presence of their closest friends and family, including Michele’s former “Scream Queens” and “Glee” co-stars, Emma Roberts and Darren Criss.

Michele, and her partner, Reich, expressed their happiness and gratitude for being surrounded by their loved ones on their special day, stating, “We are so excited to be married and grateful to be surrounded by our friends and family.” They added, “And most of all, we’re so happy to spend the rest of our lives together.”

The wedding came less than a year after Reich, the president of the women’s clothing brand AYR, proposed to Michele. Michele excitedly shared a photo of her 4-carat engagement ring on social media with the caption “YES” in the spring.
