‘Joker 2’: Photos of Lady Gaga in Costume as Harley Quinn Leak
DC Comics fans won’t get to see Lady Gaga’s performance as Harley Quinn until Joker: Folie à Deux releases on Oct. 4, 2024, but they just got a glimpse at her full costume. Getty Images published a series of photos captured by photographers in New York City on Saturday. Gaga’s Harley Quinn is shown being escorted by police officers as she heads up some steps toward a building. Loads of protesters and/or supporters are shown, with one carrying a cardboard sign reading “JOKER MARRY ME! XO.” (This scene appears to show Harley Quinn either being taken into custody or headed to a court hearing, but that’s just our speculation.)
As for Gaga’s Harley Quinn outfit, she wears a red blazer, paired with a black-and-white top, black leather skirt, and black tights. The top and tights featured diamond shapes in their designs, a key element from Harley Quinn’s traditional character design. She also sports black high heels and black eye paint. About ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’

Joker: Folie à Deux is a sequel to 2019’s Joker, which grossed more than $1 billion at the box office. Todd Phillips, who directed the first movie, is returning for this second film. Just like with Joker, Phillips co-wrote the script with Scott Silver. Joaquin Phoenix will reprise his role of Arthur Fleck a.k.a. Joker. Zazie Beetz will also return as Sophie Dumond, a woman who Joker became obsessed with in the first movie. Lady Gaga plays Harley Quinn, a Joker sidekick first introduced in Batman: The Animated Series. After her debut, Harley Quinn’s place in the DC Universe greatly expanded, with the character growing from a psychologist who became infatuated with the Joker to being a full-on anti-hero who works with Batman.
Actresses including Arleen Sorkin and Tara Strong have voiced the character in animation, with Kaley Cuoco currently voicing her in an ongoing HBO Max animated show simply titled Harley Quinn. In live-action, Mia Sara first played Harley Quinn in the 2002 WB show Birds of Prey. However, Margot Robbie is currently the best-known live-action portrayal, being as she played the character in Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) and The Suicide Squad.
Joker: Folie à Deux’s release date is Oct. 4, 2024. As far as we know, Joker and Joker: Folie à Deux are not connected to any other DC Comics movie, including the just-released Shazam: Fury of the Gods and the upcoming movies The Flash, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Superman: Legacy, The Batman Part II, The Authority, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow and Swamp Thing.
