EastEnders fans were emotional on Monday night, as Lola Pearce discovered she had just six months to live.

The character learned last year that she had a brain tumour and that it was inoperable, with doctors confirming she will die.

Tonight’s episode (March 27) she learned the devastating news that her brain tumour has advanced and she has 6 months to live at best.

Fans were overcome with emotion at the storyline twist, with many revealing they were tearing up and didn’t want to see her go.

“So Lexi is officially dying now. This is the news they really didn't want to hear # EastEnders,” said one fan.

    Lola, who has been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour, was taken for an MRI scan last week, after she zoned out a number of times during a conversation.

    She was called in for an early appointment, with Jay conniving her to come to the appointment and drop her fundraising duties.

    It was then that she learned the tragic news.

    Elsewhere, the much-anticipated opening of Boxing Den, hosted by Kat, Sharon, and Phil, turned out to be a night of surprises and shocks.

    Ben, eager to impress Phil, stepped up to take part in a demo when one of the boxers fell ill.

    Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned for Ben, and his performance fell flat.

    Meanwhile, Keanu was feeling downbeat after being dismissed by Sharon yet again.

    But with some words of encouragement from Sam and begrudging advice from Karen, Keanu mustered up the courage to declare his love for Sharon at the gym and propose to her in front of stunned onlookers.

    Sharon was mortified and left the ring without giving him an answer.

    Elsewhere, Linda was fretting over the status of Janine's plea, fearing the possibility of a trial.

    Sharon and Alfie stepped in to offer their support and convinced Linda to attend the gym opening. There, Linda and Alfie bonded over their shared history with boxing, and Linda received an update on Janine, who had pleaded guilty.

    Another big shock came from Rocky, who was worried that his past would catch up with him as he prepared to marry Kathy.

    After overhearing Kathy gush about their love to Bobby, Rocky revealed a stunning secret to Sonia that he had been married before, and they never got divorced
