David Lowery Directed An Episode Of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

Following on from word that Everything Everywhere directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert handled an episode of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, we know now via One Take News that The Green Knight's David is directing another.

It sounds like co-creator Jon Watts – he worked with his Spider-Man: Homecoming and Cop Car collaborator Christopher Ford along with Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni – has assembled quite the fascinating list of filmmakers for this one.

Set in the same timeline as The Mandalorian and its associated series, Skeleton Crew focuses on a group of kids who are about ten years old who get lost in the Star Wars universe.

Jude Law is starring in the show (no, not as one of the kids) – which marks another time working with Lowery, since he's playing Captain Hook in the director's latest live-action Disney update, Peter Pan & Wendy, which will be on Disney+ on 28 April.

His time in that galaxy far, far away complete, Lowery is next aiming to make Mother Mary, a movie set in the colourful world of pop music, which will star Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, and boasts power producer Jack Antonoff wrangling the sound, while Charli XCX handles the music. There really is no pigeonholing this one…
