Gymnast Nastia Liukin Turns Heads In See-Through Leggings
Gymnast Nastia Liukin hasn’t posted a ‘Get Ready With Me’ video in quite a while but she returned this weekend to share a spring-inspired outfit with her followers.
Even though some fans loved her yellow dress and see-through leggings, other followers took to the comments to continue to express concern about her weight about speculate that she might be struggling with an eating disorder – which is a pretty serious accusation to make.
Gymnast Nastia Liukin Slips Into See-Through Leggings In Her Latest #GRWM
In her latest Instagram post, set to Cam’Ron’s “Oh Boy” featuring Jelz Santana, Nastia begins the video by sliding into see-through leggings. Her black panties can be seen underneath the sheer material as she arranges them over her narrow hips.
She pulls down a yellow, sleeveless dress over the top and turns around to fluff out her hair in the mirror. After checking herself out in the mirror and sliding on knee-high black boots, Nastia walks off-camera to start her day.
She tagged @fuzzibrand for the top, which she says she “made” into a very mini dress, @gucci for the see-through tights, and @ganni for the boots. “Linked it all in my LTK – which you can find in my bio and also on my stories,” she added.
Fans Think That Nastia Can Definitely Pull Off These Spring Colors!
Some fans praised her video. “Spring colors/pastel colors are very complimentary on you! I don’t think most people can wear those colors well, but you def can!” one fan commented. “Oh tysm! Very into the spring vibes / color pallet right now,” Nastia replied. “Def is the time of year!! Keep rocking it!” the fan responded.
“Nastia, you are perfect,” another follower wrote. “May I also add that I LOVE THE FLORAL DECOR!!! like reallly super pretty looks like you can take wedding photos underneath it!!” another fan chimed in. “I love the spring colors. Definitely my favorite,” another follower shared.
Other Fans Worry That Nastia Might Be ‘Too Skinny’
“Man, every single video lately is a body check. At least that’s all the algorithm is showing me…. While I know she’s naturally skinny, these videos are clearly body checks,” one follower commented, and that’s not the first time that Nastia has been accused of putting “body checks” on Instagram.
Other followers also seemed confused as to the point of the video, as Nastia doesn’t really seem to be all that happy while showing off her spring outfit. “Wait. What is she looking around at? Is this supposed to be a general IG outfit reveal, or is this a skit that I’ve lost the point to? Genuine question,” another user commented.
“Super thin. Is this healthy?” another follower asked. “No, her bones in her knees are starting to poke out as are her elbow joint bones and cheekbones are sharper hollowing out her cheeks…. that is not healthy. I had anorexia I know the markers and this is clearly a body check video,” another user commented.
“At what point are her close friends going to say something? She’s not healthy,” another follower shared. “I don’t think you have any place to speak on someone else’s body (nor does anyone) like for real? these comments baffle me, and we should be lifting others up; instead of tearing each other down… especially behind a screen,” another user responded.
However, other followers insisted that they weren’t trying to be “mean” by commenting on Nastia’s weight, just expressing concern. “I think the people who think they don’t have a place to speak up are not doing her any favors,” another follower wrote. “Something is wrong.”
“You say she needs to be lifted up, exactly my point. I’m not tearing her down. I’m saying she needs her friends to show some support and point out what she’s obviously not seeing,” they continued. “People with eating disorders are usually the last people to realize something is wrong.”
Another follower wrote, “She’s a gymnast. She’s thin and has always been very thin. I wish I was thinner but not that thin. I feel very strongly that she’s very healthy and strong but just thin.” Another user remarked, “2008 was a very long time ago. Not fair to compare her then to now. Do you look the same from then? None of us do! Let her be.”
Other followers openly wondered how long it was going to be until Nastia took down the comments on her video, as she usually disables comments after people start discussing her weight as a sign that her body size is not up for discussion.
