Bethenny Frankel has the floor, and she’s taking to her Instagram reels to talk about Ozempic.

Ozempic, a drug used to treat diabetes, has become an unexpected mainstay in celebrity culture in 2023. Countless celebs have been rumored to use Ozempic for weight loss, and the “Real Housewives of New York” alumna wants to get to the bottom of the phenomenon.

The Blast has covered several aspects of Ozempic’s skyrocketing popularity among celebrities, including Kyle Richards’ alleged use. Frankel’s fellow ‘Housewife’ has repeatedly attempted to squash reports attributing Ozempic as the reason behind her rapid weight loss over the last few months; Richards maintains she has lost the weight with the help of cutting out alcohol and making changes to her diet.

Khloé Kardashian, Julia Fox, and Mindy Kaling have also been rumored to use Ozempic for weight loss. (per The Blast)

Ozempic Is Reportedly A Fixture In The ‘Housewives’ Franchise

The idea of reality stars using Ozempic doesn’t end with the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star’s alleged use. According to an Inside Edition report from February, the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star, Jackie Goldschneider, had much to say about Ozempic’s presence in the ‘Housewives’ universe.

“A lot of people in the Housewives world are on Ozempic,” Goldscheider told the outlet, “and it was tough for me to come back, and suddenly no one’s eating when we go out to dinner.”

She adds, “I am very, very scared of what will happen if and when people will have to go off of this drug because it’s just going to be like a massive number of people who gain a huge amount of weight.”

The continued fascination and focus on Richards’ alleged Ozempic use bothers her. In February, she told Extra TV how she feels about the laser focus on her weight loss.

“Sometimes I turn the other cheek and ignore it, but I work hard, and it bothers me. I want to be an inspiration to people. So don’t think I took the easy way out,” Richards said.

She was adamant about how frustrating it feels for the public’s reluctance to take her weight loss plan seriously.

“I really put a lot of effort into my diet and exercise and taking care of myself, so when people like to think I took the easy way out, it’s frustrating,” the ‘RHOBH’ star also said.

‘RHONJ’ star Melissa Gorga added fuel to the fire after speculating to Andy Cohen about Richards using Ozempic. During an appearance on Sirius XM’s “Jeff Lewis Live,” Gorga questioned whether Richards used Ozempic; she claimed she felt Richards was taking Ozempic. The ‘RHONY’ alumna took her TikTok and Instagram reels to explore Ozempic’s influence on Hollywood.

Captioning the video “Nozempic,” Frenkel revealed her thoughts on the phenomenon.

“Let’s talk about Ozempic,” she starts the video. “So, so many people are talking about what celebrities are taking it, who’s admitting it, who’s not, and why it’s bothering people so much. They feel like, I think, people are ‘taking the easy way out,’ or it’s cheating, and there are many different ways to think about it,” Frankel continues.

“So one way is, it’s like taking a shortcut, but so is gastric bypass and the lap band. But this is going to be scary because skinny people who have body dysmorphia and eating disorders are going to be taking this,” she adds. “I’ve heard in communities like Boca or the upper East Side; this is rampant and crazy. Okay, so many people are accusing people who have never been thin in their lives of Ozempic [use] or Ozempic adjacent, like one of these knockoff or generic ones. And people don’t want to admit it because they want to make it seem like blood, sweat, and tears,” Frankel continues.

She compares Ozempic use and side effects to smart weight loss drugs of the past, emphasizing dangerous side effects that are often discovered later. Frenkel also warns of the dangers of reported personality changes resulting from abusing prescription drugs.

Many TikTok and Instagram users agreed and contributed to Frankel’s discussion in the comment sections.

“Not to mention that those with diabetes can’t get their meds because of a shortage,” one TikTok user wrote.

Frenkel also chatted with fans about their experiences with Ozempic, cautioning them to take proper care of themselves while using the drug.
